I take your point about the in vitro data but the study suggests that Ratko as far back as 2014 on asthma study Fig 4 E shows in vivo data for viral load in sputum .I am sure further data may exist Also COPD trial for example they measure interferon beta-dependent antiviral biomarkers MX1 and OAS1 in lung (sputum)

I didn't watch the webinar , but the first slide on the slide showed the effect of treatment on viral load .I was under the impression they would have done the effect of treatment on viral load on this HT/Hosp cohort or have they done previous trials including COPD and will use that data or are they doing in the Activ 2 trials ? Isn't breathelessness and recovery a WHO a clinical primary endpoint worth considering ?

Thanks for your response .I am always interested in the opinions of the experts .Peter English I thought gave the impression that antiviral treatment administered at the early stage of disease will be of a low benefit. That seems to indicate that prophylaxis treatment will not be worthwhile , hence my quip about Boris's wonder pill is game over

Dr Penny Ward expert opinion said " It’s tough doing community trials in viral respiratory illness and all too easy to make a potentially great drug look ineffective, as I know only too well! Also the trial is too small
But we have ACTIV 2 to look forward to bolster the results
I am not too disheartened as RM said even a small signal from this trial is good news
Eli Lilly MAb trial appeared statistically insignificant but US Gov was happy to purchase a load
And P 3 to come with good news

I think Dr English's expert opinion on "the model for the disease" is not strictly true it means that any antiviral administered early intervention as in the HT /Hos will not be of low benefit .Event as a prophylaxis ?Better let Pfizer and Boris and the task force game over on the magic pill then .Our trial showed some benefit as acknowledge Dr Penny Ward and a larger trial would be necessary .Hopefully we will have Activ 2 soon to bolster the data

Thank you for your post .It is an important point .I see that Eli Lilly had 452 patients spilt between each arm in their study and I believe they used a single specific Mab designed to be used against the wild strain of Covid 19 at the time .We have combined our data from HT/Hosp data and also if we include the ACTIV 2 data to bolster the numbers a compilation could be presented for a the peer review I am confident we see an improvement surpassing that of Eli Lilly study .Because as we know our agnostic treatment will work against the wild strain or any prevailing strain in the UK or in ACTIV 2 in the US This is one of the many advantages of our treatment over single Mab treatment Its important that the HT early intervention treatment gets out there !

dexameth and Budesonid are anti inflammatory in action and not antiviral in the case of Budesonid it not certain to prevent viral progression of disease and Dexmeth not useful for early prevention

Thanks for your response you are correct .To be truthful I lost my head and a large chunk of money in yesterdays chaos .I did not see the webinar but reading the posts coming through posters felt very results were very underwhelming. I was trying make the point that the Pfizer vaccine preliminary results were very small numbers involved in 44K trial and many posters here at the time scoffed at the these small figures to achieve a greater than 90% efficacy . I thought the results from our trial were good for a small early treatment intervention study and small number obtained and if extrapolated to a larger population might give people a better perspective of what could be achieved in especially in preventing hospitalisation. I think RM said any signal from HT would be great news .Desperation on my part to stop to do something and stop the tidal wave of negativity clearly it failed on all counts
