I see what you mean with my initial elation I didn't scroll down and seen other companies in various other categories being shortlisted including AZ , The vaccine Task Force , Avacta , etc and Novacyte winning it last year, not demeaning them in any way but there is a large but worthy field of players But still its great news and moreover PR for a company that appears to have been paid little attention by Gov and main stream media We have still a chance of winning as BioNtech appear in other categories and also we may have may made a bigger impression leading up to November

Will Boris mention it at the next coronavirus briefing with a lump in his throat because Oxford /AZ was not on the list

Dexamethasone has worked too as a steroid but immunosuppression allows opportunist secondary infections. If Dexamethasone treatment is implicated it is a concern perhaps for countries with poor health systems where the fungus will thrive in the environment imo

Link is an older article and the consensus was not to administer steroids in lung disease /lung injury when treating covid because of serious lung infection caused by secondary bacteria /fungal infections .The threat of these fungal infections are probably greater in poor countries like India I suspect because of obvious reasons

Is dexamethasone one of the steroids that could be responsible in suppressing the immune system allowing mucoraceous species of fungi to proliferate in humid warm conditions in these vulnerable patients
