RE: Best Guess: Placement Inbound8 Dec 2022 12:44
Frankly, I am amazed anyone is buying at 12.5p which still represents a 25% premium to the June 10p placement. Its crazy especially with a further placement likely.
I can see the ramping club are out in full force, but economic market conditions remain absolutely horrendous. The update practically confirms that THX won’t be sending money anytime soon and it will take much longer to conclude 201.
Adam, you say in your post that they have cash runway through to August as if that’s a great thing. It’s not, it means that unless they get revenue in from somewhere they will need another cash call. I have to say that by my own calculation I thought the cash runway was slightly longer to end of 2023 BUT if they do lease a lab shortly that would add to the cash burn so your estimate could well be right. You are closer to them than me.
The mcap today is close to £12m, CAB estimate £1.6m – this stock is NOT trading under its cash value, its pipeline assets are only worth what someone will pay for them. I await CENKOS next broker update.
I am not pushing for a share issue as you suggest, I’m simply saying if I were advising the board I would do it now. Remember, as at today they already have authority to issue 20m shares without shareholder vote. If the share price falls further on the year end results first quarter, that stock will be worth far less to them.
A number of the ramping club argue that 201 is worth X, 301 is worth Y etc etc. This is an illusion. It is only worth what someone will pay. THX for example for 201 are currently paying ZERO. It will take significant time, VAL need to find a new buyer for 201 but that’s something else. It will take years for these drugs to be commercialised.
I am criticised here for buying 4D that went bankrupt, but I would point out that it had 11 pipeline drugs and one that treated IBS ready to be commercialised after all the trial stages awaiting FDA, the FDA process alone was 7mths and counting. Biotech’s take years to have drugs at the commercial stage. Suzy has fully explained it’s a 10-year cycle.
The drugs in VALs development have great potential, I love them, I hope one day they reach market, but they are still years off. Investing here is a long-term thing, they need cash to continue development so posters here telling you that instance riches await is for the birds so be prepared to invest VERY long term
Finally, finding partners to back drug development is also challenging, interest rates are rising and stateside many of the big players are sitting on their hands conserving cash, debt is not attractive either and this situation could well go on into 2024 and beyond, let alone next year. That’s how I see it. Outlook remains poor short term imo.
Good Luck
