I’ll guarantee that the vast majority of people that have used LFDs haven’t heard of Innova even though they’ve had a box of their imported tests in their house. I’m not sure what the point of brand awareness is. The govt did a bit of shouting about surescreen but have since not cared about the U.K. diagnostics industry since. This is bizarrely despite investing in it. We’ll have to wait and see once everything is up and running, and test to release is in place, if they’ll champion U.K. tests and diagnostics.

Great point AgentB, at the point that the public need to become aware I’m sure the sales and marketing experts who have successfully launched a market leading global brand will be more than capable. Competition should reduce as the poorer tests are weeded out, especially those that have managed to just change the IFU without proper validation. I’ve been thinking the same I&B. Even if the fabled sov test doesn’t exist in the same capacity in future, it needs to exist to some extent to keep public services going and for surge testing. It just seems odd for the references to access to gov equipment to continue. Why would we get access to this capacity otherwise? It could be another gov white elephant, but in that case, wouldn’t they have dropped it before now rather than engaging Toyota to get them operational? It suggests that the gov want up to 30m and if nothing else, we’re still in the mix - he said we’re engaged in the procurement process, not validation process.
