I agree, Bumble and Newboy. There could well be slippage on KA�s target of first commercial unit within 2018, but hopefully not by a significant amount. I think that may depend upon the timing of the planning permits which KA was anticipating around the end of this month or early June, so I anxiously await news on that. And I also agree, Newboy, that we are unlikely to see any significant interest by big players until the first commercial unit is up and running and proven. I also suspect that we may not see a major uplift in the SP until that point is reached.

By the end of this year has been KA’s target for having the first commercial unit up and running for quite some time now. If/when he achieves that, PHE will have a huge competitive advantage over all other W2E gasification businesses because they will be operating at a much higher temperature than any of the others.

Why do you keep going on about tampers on this B.B.? I don�t actually see ramping going on here, I just see posters commenting about the potential of the company and the hydrogen economy generally. My understanding of ramping is when posters try to talk up the SP by making statements that are totally unfounded and without any real evidence.

That's what was supposed to happen towards the end of April, not what actually happened!!

The environmentalists seem to have got themselves into a bit of a twist on this, which is not unusual! Perhaps if the proposal specified gasification to produce hydrogen for fuel, hence no harmful emissions, then they might begin to understand.

I should, in all fairness, also say that ITM are also heavily involved in energy storage and rapid release to help balance the grid.

I doubt it, balman, I don't think KA would want to sell them a G3 unit as I'm sure he regards ITM as a competitor. I think that if they are to survive in the longer term, then ITM will need to find themselves a much cheaper source of electricity, but I'm not sure where that will come from.

The advantage of PHE's gasification system is that it operates at ultra high temperature, higher than any of the other systems, at 1200-1500C against the others which come up to about 800C. There is no chimney because there are no emissions, as everything (except metals of course) are turned into syngas with a high proportion of hydrogen. Once planning authorities realise that gasification is not incineration, then planning should not be such a massive problem to overcome. At the moment PHE only have a small prototype 3t per day unit operating at Thornton Park but they are expecting to have their first full-size 25t per day unit operating at Protos Park before this year end.
