SP always seems to drift down in the absence of news - it's almost a case of any news is good news. We're currently waiting for an announcement about the loan conversion etc, which the company planned to make by last Monday. I suspect the SP will perk up again when this announcement is made, so the current weakness could be a good time to buy - except for those already in it up to their neck.

It's still early days, but at least the conversion of the loans will put a stop to the exorbitant 10% interest cost.

I'm agnostic about a bid...but I wouldn't have thought a mere accounting write-down was particularly relevant, large though it was. Surely a bidder would be more interested in things like forecast revenues, profits and cash flow; geographical spread; market dominance; and synergies. I do wonder, though, how much of the recent SP surge is down to takeover speculation.

Sounds positive, actually. At least something is happening...... But I almost got run over by a DX lorry the other day. Hope that's not a forewarning of the way my investment in this company is about to go!

It's a pity Gatemore scuppered the Menzies merger: long-suffering PIs could have been out at 30p+ long ago. We now have to be more patient, but we'll get there in the end. We're now too close to the results to get any significant RNSs: we'll need to wait till then for news about the turnaround strategy, including the SuperHub.

Yes Jimbo, the results will be very interesting: how will the tension between the new CEO, wanting to "clear the decks", and the existing management, wanting to put a brave face on it, play out? As you say, Generics is not everything, nevertheless the new CEO presumably has a good track record of dealing with the FDA, on which Hikma are seeking to capitalise. So I think existing PIs just need to sit this one out: all you can say is that the SP should get back on track some time in 2018, but it will continue to be a rocky ride in the meantime. Trying to trade such a speculative share is a mug's game. But if it plumbs new lows, I might be tempted to top up, except I'm already overweight in this share, and there are limits. And what will turn out to be the final low point? I thought I'd found that at 1400...1200...1000...LOL!

I know the feeling Jimbo: every time I've averaged down, it's dropped even further. Should I now buy �5k more at 820p, or wait for sub �8, I wonder..... Ironically, I originally bought Hikma because I was looking for a safe haven - not expecting to make a killing, but not expecting to lose much either. But it's turned into a nightmare - so far..... In the absence of information, the SP continues to be driven by pure speculation. But at the slightest indication of light at the end of the tunnel, this share will rebound again with a vengeance, above �10 and beyond. Let's hope the results on 14 March provide that light. The new CEO will also be free to buy, and show some faith in the company, once the results are announced.

I'm afraid the next scheduled announcement is not until 29 March (interim results, which will inevitably be dire), but it will hopefully be accompanied by an upbeat progress report. Wouldn't expect much movement in the SP till then, unless in the meantime there is a leak, or more news re contract wins, directors' purchases or something even more dramatic....

Jimbo, he's definitely no more than around 50. I'm also going to ignore daily movements on this share: I'm in for the long haul. Lets hope for positive news on 14 March (prelims).

I'm not sure he did "retire" from working life - he's only late 40s, I believe. He probably moved on for undisclosed political reasons. Anyway one would hope that Hikma gave him a thorough vetting before appointing him.
