The reason for the post was to question 1onic's logic that the company is only worth current SP.

IIs as a whole have kept a lid on the SP by selling big time.

Of course, with SL buying, the SP is now starting to fight back, but the company is still worth much more than current SP.

Sometimes the share price does NOT reflect achievable NAV.

This is the case with Flybe, whose SP has been adversely affected by EXCEPTIONAL selling by IIs, so that the SP has not had a chance to settle down.

Equally important, the SP says nothing about the value of the company to a particular bidder, for whom the assets including the slots may have a significant "marriage value".

All he's saying is that it's chicken feed to Virgin, so they're likely to outbid everyone else and we should end up with a great deal, at least a 5-bagger at current SP.

Lost so much on this share, a top up at current levels is just small change, and worth a punt, therefore.

Also, having looked closely at the latest accounts - which by the way have been prepared on a going concern basis, ie sufficient funding for at least 12 months - I don't see any need for an immediate fund raising, and there is every chance that the comp[any can trade its way out of the current setback.

I'm no expert on II's, but my impression is that not all II's are equal.

Aberforth sold, according to the RNS, for "discretionary clients", ie individuals for whom they manage their wealth. So sales by Aberforth are in effect nothing more than sales by a bunch of PI's.

On the other hand, the purchase by Standard was not stated to be for anyone other than itself.

On that basis, the Standard purchase is surely more significant than the Aberforth sales.

And yet, the Aberforth sales are in the newsfeed (Alliance), while the Standard purchase isn't.

The MSM love to latch on to a figure like £7k per hour. However, it's plain wrong. After taking into account loan repayments and the increase in card acquirer collateral, it was only about £3.5k per hour in the first half, and hopefully that's now improving.
