Seems odd. After all, Flybe confirmed Virgin's "discussions" on the day following press speculation.

Could just mean that IAG, though they have started to put together a bid, haven't reached the stage of actually having "discussions" with Flybe.

...by IAG, Virgin, Stobart or anyone else it seems (it would only take a purchase of about 2m shares, for an outlay of about £400k, for the transaction to be reportable by RNS).

I suppose that's chicken feed in the greater scheme of things, barely covering the bankers' lunch!

The announcement of an actual offer would not ordinarily mean trading in the shares stops.

But the slots alone are worth £100m!!

No, Tricky Dickie was merely confirming his interest in making a bid. Still waiting for an actual offer from him.

Meanwhile, Wily Willy is expected to officially announce his interest IMMINENTLY, triggering another spurt in the SP.

You'd think IAG would respond tomorrow to all the press speculation, like Virgin did last Friday. If so, another feeding frenzy is on the cards....

Not sure why people are raising the spectre of suspension.

On what grounds could/would Flybe request a suspension? Maybe if a significant breach of an NDA came to the company's attention, I suppose.

Certainly, they did nothing when the share went into a tailspin through institutional panic and shorting. So why would they interfere now, with the reverse happening? It would not be in the interests of getting the best deal for shareholders.

HH/Star. Yes, with Flybe in an "offer period", the notifiable interest is as little as 1% I believe, as opposed to the usual 3%.

This is making the current SP look very cheap, even after the 70% jump on Friday.

Might even try adding to my £33k holding on Monday, except it'll probably open in the 20s.

...are saying that both easyJet and Stobart are also (ie in addition to Virgin) considering buying all or part of Flybe.

So much for easyJet's CEO playing it down last Thursday!

I think the "portion" they hedge is 90% unfortunately, so it'll take some time for the full benefits of lower POO to come through.

However, Flybe's valuation will be boosted, because this is based in part on projected earnings over a number of years.

Lower POO will also strengthen the financial position of bidders in the aviation industry and so give them more firepower, which should mean higher bids.

They claim Stobart are too involved in suing their ex-CEO to be actively considering a bid for Flybe.

But then why would they have commenced discussions with Flybe in the first place?

I see the Telegraph claim that easyJet have ruled themselves out of making a bid. If that is based on what the CEO was saying last week, then I think they've come to the opposite conclusion to most people on this BB, which is that easyJet are not out of it at all, they're just playing it cool.

Clearly, the weekend press will make a fascinating read, but you need to sort the wheat from the chaff.

One thing I saw somewhere is that Stobart will be making an announcement on Wednesday. Now that would be interesting.....

By the way, I wonder why all these parties weren't interested at the time of the Stobart failed bid earlier this year.

Sold 800,000 at 11.5p this morning, having bought them on 15/11/18 at 9.6p.

Tidy profit, but they've missed out on even more.

Maybe they don't get Sky news in Germany.
