I expect they've been too busy over the last week or so preparing for their own results announcement to give much attention to Flybe. And they wouldn't want to appear too keen either - in the same way that Flybe wouldn't want to appear too desperate to find a buyer. Bottom line: we are still in the dark, but that could change at any moment....

Yes, I wouldn't rule out easyJet. I'm sure at the very least they are watching and waiting with interest.

"There is nothing to talk about at the moment" could mean "there will be something to talk about in a week's time".

Without having actually heard the interview, I think Lundgren was probably caught on the hop. Coupled with the fact that his mother tongue is not English, what came out at the end was inevitably a bit garbled.

All bidders will be entering into NDA's, but I think this is just to stop bidders disclosing any confidential information which Flybe hand over to them; it doesn't mean the existence of specific bids/bidders cannot be announced to the outside world.

Following great results, briefly touched £21, in line with broker target prices, before dropping like a stone to less than £17 today. Would have been better to have kept its mouth shut!

Depends on the terms of the offer, but it's likely your shares will be exchanged automatically for shares in the bidder (eg easyJet) when the takeover completes in a few months time. Other scenarios are also possible, eg a mix of cash and shares. However, in the meantime, the share price of Flybe will shoot up, and you'll be able to sell in the market if you wish.

Hopefully. But if EJ are not in duscussions, or break off negotiations, I don't think there'll be a formal announcement of that from them.

I know JW is inclined to shrug his shoulders when the market crucifies the shares, but he has his management team to think about and motivate, so he should be concerned, and get out there promoting the company more.

£6.6m, not $6.6m

I think I can answer my own query...….

Looking at borrowings as a whole, they went from £154.1 to £152.7, ie dropped by £1.4m.

They should have dropped by £9.2m repaid, less a $6.6m unfavourable revaluation of dollar loans, ie a net £2.6m.

So the amount unaccounted for is only £1.2m......

It would seem that c£9m of long term borrowings have been reclassified as short term - their repayment date(s) now with time moving on falling within 12 months of the period end - and that there is an ongoing obligation to repay £9m every half year. Hence the need for the sale and leasebacks.

Been trying to make sense of the half year results. These show £9m borrowings repaid during the half year.

The balance sheet at 31/3/18 y/e showed £18m of loans repayable within 12 months. So a further £9m will be repayable in the second half presumably.

However, borrowings in current liabilities at 30/9/18 are still shown at £18m at 30/9/18, ie as if nothing has been repaid.

Under the Takeover Code, a bidder must "put up or shut up" within 28 days of the start of an "offer period". However, unfortunately for us, this requirement has been waived for Flybe, which takes the pressure of potential bidders to some extent. I therefore fear that we may have to wait maybe 6 - 8 weeks for an offer to materialise, or even for the announcement by any bidder of their intention to make an offer. I hope that isn't the case: Stobart should already know enough about the company to make a quick decision, and other potential bidders will need to get their skates on in order not to be left behind.

APD is taking an unfair slice of Flybe's revenues: it's payable twice on relatively short return trips within the UK, whereas it's payable only once (on the outward leg) of a return trip abroad. And there's no equivalent tax for alternative modes of travel, like the railways. If the government want to help Flybe - as they should do bearing in mind the company's key role in connecting the regions of the UK - they should URGENLY reform/reduce it.

The collateral being demanded by the card acquirers, which restricts the cash available to the company, seems key. Presumably, they will demand even more collateral if they are concerned Flybe will go bust - and therefore precipitate an avalanche of credit card refunds which Flybe won't be able to settle with the card acquirers - but if they demand too much collateral that will in itself pile up the pressure on the company and possibly hasten its demise. If it's important to the government that Flybe survive, they could perhaps help out by providing a guarantee.

I tend not to take too much notice of what II's are doing, because they don't seem to know any more than PI's. If they did, they'd have got out before the drop, wouldn't they?
