Observer: I have come to realise that people drive the markets, they in turn are highly influenced by news and events. I myself am swayed by a persuasive argument. Although this is self-evident, it is I think, under played and I’m disclosing nothing new. On each board I read, and I do follow other companies, the same story is played out; the tug of war between rampers and derampers with a smattering of reasoned voices. What is very apparent is, many investors follow the herd and care little about even cursory research, the lure of the big bucks shines out from the darkness. On the other hand each board seems to have one or two investors that become the local expert and must devote a lot of time and effort to research. This local expert influences many of the lazy investors, Sirius had a couple, Flow, UKOG, Solo and so on. It is also apparent that even in the face of common sense most investors seem to be hell bent on viewing the share optimistically and don’t seem able to adopt a contrary stance. The same thing appears to be happening over at UKOG. I have looked at this share over several months and I don’t think I’ve made any comments but not sure. It seems obvious to me that it is not going to be the Gatwick gusher and the latest venture into Turkey appears a desperate gamble. The whole UKOG story seems populated by evasive news flow. Already the talk turns to acceptance and future riches from Turkey. I have decided not buy into that particular dream. I followed the FLOW story, again it seemed too good to be true and again I hit lucky by not investing. The real damage is done by the sudden unexpected news that suddenly arrives in the morning RNS, many times it seems this news has been held back until it is too late. Sirius a good example of that. The PI is at a serious disadvantage in the game.
I won’t bet on Inspirit, all the signs are they are evasive and untrustworthy and have totally failed to live up to expectations over many many years now. There is absolutely nothing to hint at a progressive and worthwhile company. That’s not to say money can’t be made by trading the share; some will get lucky and spur them on to eventual greater losses.
