I recall reading it will require 91MW which would be 797 GW. Which would require circa 2000 acres of solar panels. I think they will stick to a run of the river hydro plant or use thermal generation (fossil fuels) like mirador and Fruta del Norte.

Building sufficient solar to power the mine would not be an esg stunt. No one is going to class chopping down hundreds of acres of tropical forest to allow solar farms to be built an esg move.

I mean yes lets save the world by chopping down highly bio diverse forests.... dont think it will fly with the local community somehow.

I would bet a good chunk of money that solar will be nothing more than a sideshow. It cannot possibly provide the amount of electricty required without basically cancelling the mine.

I am also hoping for some news on electricity supply. With this "accelerated" production plan they are going to need to get a move on with the electricty supply. Would be good to have news on permits for that as turbines for a run of the river hydro plant are going to have a pretty long lead time!!! I wouldnt be surprised if its 2 years including shipping.

As it stands they have three wprk fronts.

1) exploring TAM more.

2) moving Santa Cecilia

3) building Portals to facilitate the declines.

Everything else requires permitting basically. Ok they might not want to start the portals till they get the CIPA (which is out of their hands) but it would show progress.

I dont see why they wouldnt run concurrently. Why not do the portals if you have the licenses? Wont be massively expensive for drill and blast tunnels I wouldnt have thought amd shows progress.....

How would they start the declines when they haven’t started the portals?

Honestly im not upto date on IR35 - i left the uk too long ago for it to have impacted me personally. But ill tell you this much most of my old construction mates are still doing it. In the unlikely event I ever move back to Blighty ill read up on it as it would impact me.... i dont like tax, hence living in KSA.

Solgold / Dan setting up Solgold UK Services if anything suggests he doesnt expect a takeover anytime soon. Its clearly being done to make his personal affairs tax efficient. Rather than being paid a salary he will be paid a fee to his company. The new company will pay corporation tax and he will receive his money through a mixture of dividends and salary. I imagine his salary will be at the limit of the personal allowance then he will get the rest in dividends. He will probably employ his mrs as a secretary who will also get paid as per her personal allowance.
