You keep saying you “know your history” but every sentence you write shows the opposite tbh. The idea that Adam Smith somehow lifted Rousseau’s work to justify capitalism isn’t just wrong, it’s the sort of thing people say when they’ve never acctually read either of them.

Smith and Rousseau had completely different starting points, different aims and completely different conclusions. Rousseau thought civilisation corrupts people. Smith thought commercial society improves life. Trying to link the two is like claiming Newton copied astrolgy.

Smith’s ideas about law and markets come from the Scottish Enlightenment and from a long British legal tradition that existed centuries before Rousseau was even a name on a page. Rousseau had zero influence on English law, Scottish law or any institution that shaped British markets. None at all. You’re inventing connections that simply don’t exsist.

And dragging Hayek into this only makes it worse. He wrote what two hundred years later? In a totally different context. You can’t just chuck random thinkers from different eras into a pot and pretend they form one neat intelectual family tree.

You’re not describing history. You’re stitching together unrelated names to defend a point that falls apart the moment you check even one basic fact.

Looking at the last two polls for the the question which probably most impacts Solgold - ie the assembly to re write the constitution has very conflicting outcomes.

English & Welsh law (I detest the term UK law) = common law evolving since probably the 1100s and the Norman legal reforms.

French Revolution = civil law built on Napoleon’s Code.

The two systems are completely different. Given they are completely different the concept that Britain borrowed its legal system from revolutionary France is beyond ridiculous. Rousseau influenced French republicanism, not English law. English law is a common law tradition that predates him by centuries.

Fort by pilot hole I think you are referring to early mine access. The PFS says that the engineering works from that will feed into the ESIA modification. I take engineering to mean the design of the Portal and the declines rather than actually constructing them. In my opinion (and its only an opinion) whats holding up the EIA application is the TSF being moved from the costal plains which is the one that was focussed on in the PFS. They needed to prove up TAM (which they have seemingly now done) to finalise that the new one is workable. So I assume they are busy designing that which I would imagine would be a few months work. Being frank given its such a critical asset that if it fails would cause a disaster I think they should be spending a bit of time on it! As an aside I dont think that the submission is that big a deal, its still a long process thereafter - though would agree it would be a nice step in the right direction.

I find it strange that people seem to think that Dan is the chap who runs the Minisitry of Production in Ecuador who issues the CIPA. It is not in Solgolds / Dans power to issue the CIPA.

Why isnt the CIPA being issued - personal opinion - its because of the referendum and the government doesnt want to risk a repeat of the Sacha Oil fiasco prior to Noboa's election. Also a possible link to DPM and whats happened with their license and that they will almost certainly take Ecuador to Arbitration.
