we all knew Sri Lanka was a trudging jurisdiction to operate in and even given the circumstances here I don't think I'll be rushing to make another investment there. There are other locations more open to mining (Botswana, Greenland) with as good if not better potential.

I mean for a start where is the component analysis from all the drilling done last year - we're still bloody waiting for the GSMB to get that done.

I agree - I have been accumulating over the last few months at these levels and happy to continue doing so.

I think the price here is more a reflection of the market as a whole and investors trying to offset large profits in Oil & Gas with tax losses in this sector. That scenario will end, sooner or later...

agreed we need a LOT more drilling activity and results before you can conduct any decent investment analysis.

I would suggest that mine has all kind of factors at play - not least political. it also says: 'The enterprise, whose reserve development activities continue, has an annual feed capacity of 1.5 million tons.' SO I have no idea what their reserve estimates are but I suspect pretty substantial.

I have no real idea where CGNR is going, except it's clearly in a downtrend, which I've been saying for sometime and that's enough for me not to be buying here or for the foreseeable - if you have another view, great (that's a market). I don't 'want' it do go down further but the signs are it will.
But I also know this is the beginning of a long game - I just have to look at OMI with two of the largest gold miners as strategic partners and drilling consistently delivering what can only be interpreted as fantastic results and see that the market still wants more and they've drilled a heck of a lot more than CGNR.

Look let's put this to bed - re the JORC. 500k does not cut it these days. The big players will not start mining operations unless the see something around/greater than 5m. They are simply not interested in smaller amounts.

SO 500k is a complete nonstarter - that's why PROF C always mentions expanding the resource because without that DEMIR will not proceed. There's a long way to go, a lot more drilling to be done.

As I said a while back it will be interesting to see how it reacts to the 10p level - interesting level on the charts - that could be a turning point most likely it may bounce off it to begin a recovery / slice right through....what do I know...

so guys there are two processes here - commercial negotiations and legal contract agreement - both take a long time. It's not like buying a house.
Yes they've been at it for months, yes companies are eager for the product but anyone who has ever been involved with these will tell you drawing up and agreeing the legal contracts is sometimes even more tortious than agreeing the commercial terms, and even moreso if the counterparty is a large corporate. The agreement will have to pass legal, finance, operations, operational risk reviews and God knows how many more...

It's worth bearing in mind for anyone that hasn't been through this type of negotiation, that these agreements take a LONG time to nail down and then the construction of the legal contract takes forever, so there's no point getting frustrated, It just takes time.

You can be ruddy sure that some/most of the 76% are constantly at MF to progress things. The very fact that they remain fully invested, so many years on, gives me a lot of comfort - because lets be honest these guys are insiders.

@Fairview as I said I don't believe the story is over here yet...whether that be better or worse in the future. We need a lot more drilling, analysis and patience.
But the market and sentiment is seldom static.

But my enthusiasm was always tampered by previous experience and an understanding of how the sector works and the fact that geologists are generally excited by anything they find in the ground.

But the story here ain't over yet...so you never know...but on results so far I'd expect further share price declines.

I would expect to hear something soon about the commencement of the autumn drilling campaign which was fully costed for earlier in the year.

@Justone - did they mention this at all at the AGM?
