You are of course correct, but its difficult to keep the faith at the moment.
For example if you were looking at a portfolio that was up £14k but in the herd was a red £2.8k it might prove a little annoying.
Of course if it was the other way round that would be VERY annoying.

If your'e talking BID price, I'd say £15.785

Its the US press so could mean anything, but my take is that by dose they mean a course of medication per person.
But perhaps its easier to ignor that and just focus on the value of the contract.
But it does have to be signed off by the purse holders before it actually bears fruit.

Maybe, but I don't think so, GSK is a giant in the FTSE100 being rated as 5th by market cap.
It would of course have been better if GSK had brough the pill to marker instead of Pfizer, but all in all its a drop in the ocean when companies like this are involved. Just as long as we don't get too many of those drops in the ocean, or it starts to get a bit soggy.
Overall I would agree with Seaking1, GSK is a good company that seemed to lose its way a little, but hopefully there will be pipeline drugs that make it to market to replace those that have lost their protected rights.

Again thank you, its certainly put the potential problem on my radar, and I at least have the option of planning to avoid the issue. I do so hate paying tax on income I'v invested after already paying tax on that income. No thats not true.........I just hate paying tax.

It seems to be making small gains now, up 1.3% today so far.

As I said on the back of the recent announcement regarding the Pfizer, MGC and Covid is looking iffy.

Looks like I'm down on paper another £405 today.

No big sells showing up today thus far, so hopefully only a fairly small loss.
You may have made the right choice, only time will tell.

As I type, its a nice 1.7% lift to the SP.
Slow and steady would do just fine.

Nice little 1% lift so far today. I just have to see another 0.5% and I'll be back in the black on this one (excluding dividends).

I have about 50% of my GSK stock in an ISA and the rest in a BED account as I had used all my ISA allowance this year and intend to move my BED stocks accross to the ISA over the next few years making use of the annual allowance and trying to avoid CGT in the process.
If I understand you correctly it amy be worth me prioritising GSK when moving my stocks over to the ISA, commencing April 6th 2022. The GSK stock in the BED only amounts to around £7k so easily achievable.

A Florida Legislature panel authorized a funding request of $643.4 million to acquire about 300,000 doses – at $2,100 each – of GlaxoSmithKline’s Sotrovimab.

Sotrovimab is a relatively new monoclonal antibody treatment not yet directly available through US federal supply lines.

Monoclonal antibody treatments are an increasingly popular alternative to vaccines in the US for protection from COVID-19. So popular that in September, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (DHS), increased overall supplies from 100,000 to 150,000 doses a week nationwide, but capped doses being delivered to Florida and six other Southern states that had previously consumed more than 70% of the nation’s monoclonal antibody treatments.

So it looks like this falls in the good news group if it does indeed get passed.

I was very tempted to sell today, but I think this stock is a winner. I will probably drop back at some point as its quite a rise today, but I think its got a lot more to give so although I wont add more at todays highs, I certainly wont be selling.

AAF were not on my radar at all. I saw an article and it piqued my interes so luckily had a better look at it.
In June this year I stuck 2647 shares in my ISA at 77.1p including costs.
There was no more room in my ISA allowance so stuck another 5656 shares in my BED account at 79.02p in July.
On the back of good news I added another 6703 shares to my BED in August at 88.93p.
I just got lucky with this one, which more than makes up for VOD which on paper has cost me £1600 over the same period.
I actually though VOD was a safer bet than AAF and bought it to offset the risk, how wrong could I be.

Its up 7.5% now.
I wish I'd bought some more when I saw the news this morning. Doh!

Unfortunately I have no idea what will happen to the SP, in such a short timeframe I think much will depend on how thw market views the demerger next year. If its seen as a good thing I would imagine the SP will rise towards the cut off date as more shares are aquired, if not I would expect a drop as stock is unloaded.
Anyones guess at the moment.
