The market likes it, as I type AAF is up 6.4% today.

MTN Nigeria and Airtel Africa Plc have received approval in principle to operate a payment service bank (PSB) in the country.
This is the first step in a long process that would lead to eventual approval.

Looks very positive, but I'm sure there will be several hoops AAF will have to jump through to achieve what could be a lucrative addition to its services.

The drops in SP must be having a positive effect on the shares buyback.

The BOE has today decided to keep interest rate unchanged at 0.1% for the moment.

Thanks for your views, I'm sitting on the fence at the moment with GSK.
As for CGT, I don't know for sure but I would doubt it as the shareholder will not to make any profit from the split, untill shares are sold and a profit realised.

As the demerger gets ever closer I would like to know your thoughts on the subject.
GSK is to split itself in two by demerging its consumer products division.
In the short term I understand there will be a substantial reduction in the dividend, but over a longer period the two companies may increase value.
It is my understanding that post demerger, current share holders will hold shares in both companies. I do not know but imagine if I hold 100 shares in GSK pre demerger, post demerger I will hold (example only) 60 shares in GSK and 40 shares in company X.
I hold GSK for the dividend as I suspect many do.

not sure what you mean by 'cannabis derivatives', but if you mean recreational use, MGC is not as far as I know looking at that.

I would agree the whole Covid thing is looking a bit iffy to me now, but the drug itself has other uses.

MXC is not alone, looking at cannabinoid stocks in general, they have failed to catch the imagination of big investors, in fact KNB and CBX appear to be fairing worse than MXC.
There is a lot of weight placed on MGC's fight against Covid19, I think the big break for MGC will come from their pipeline of other products, and thats going to take time.
I was actively looking for an exit point, but that time is past as I'm looking at a 20% paper loss. By the time I've regained that elsewhere, I think MGC will come good, so I may as well just hold.

Of the 21 stocks I hold only GSK, NG., ULVE, and UU. are up on the day, so I don't think its specific to DLG.
If I wasn't over weighted on DLG I would probably have added today on the dip.

In fact all five of my insurance stocks are down today.

Lots of stocks down today as I type this. Its not isolated to this stock alone, just general market downer.

Rumor and speculation has been about for a couple of years, but its only that IMHO.

I see I havd dripped on and haven't really given my views on the poster origional questions, so I will try and address that hers.
1) Halifax, but have a look around, cheap is usually cheap for a reason.
2) ISA, absolutly, only use another account if you have maxed out your £20k ISA allowance. Tax eats into your profits, and if you are lucky enough to pick a real winner then CGT really hurts, although there are tax allowance on dividend and CTG which should cover you initially. i think the CTG tax allowance for this year is £12300, but that includes all CTG not just stocks. The dividend tax allowance is I believe £2000 pa.
3) My view is stich to HL, banks or similar, but I have no experience outside these.
4) If I am considering a buy Halifax allows me to set either the sum I wish to spend or the number of shares I wish to buy, and then get a live price. I then have 15 seconds to either make the trade or refresh the live price.
5) Stop loss. I personally don't use it but my understanding is that you set a price you will sell at, so if the SP takes a dive it should minimise your losses to that SP. However sometimes a stock can dip for a very short period, the sell is triggered automatically and you are out of the stock. I don't concern myself with the daily ups and downs as over the long term is what counts for me. I'm afraid I can't help at all with trailing loss, but I'm sure someone will chip in.

Oh and IMHO, some other good advice posted above, try fantasy trading, it will perhaps allow you to make mistakes and learn without costing you money. I had to do it the old fashioned way and pay for my fininacial education with poor investing.

eccles04 makes a good point, I too have read Warren Buffet's advice, and its certainly worth the time to research him.
I also agree that trading is akin to gambling, some (very few) win, but the majority lose. Which if you were a gambler seems very strange as one would think a gambler would play the odds.

As has already been said, a lot depends on your aims.
I view myself as an investor, I don't have the temperament to be a trader, or the extensive funds to make it work.
I tend to buy and hold foe medium (5yr) to long term, in which case the fees have little effect on my overall profits.
I probably only make 10 trades a year and try and limit it to £1000 minimum buys, excluding automated dividend reinvestments of course.
My advise for what its worth is leave trading to the pros. Yes of course there are a few non pros who make a go of it, but most over the medium term will lose money.
I use Halifax, £9.50 max per trade, and less in some cases.
I max out my ISA due to the tax advantages, but also run a standard trading account as a BED for the ISA.
Try and avoid the get rich quick mindset, and go for the long haul.
I have a mix of growth and dividend stocks, weighted towards dividend stocks, and try and limit each stock to around 5% of my portfolio.
Diversity is key, I hold 21 stocks in various sectors, and stick to LSE stocks for a varity of reasons.
Initially if you have limited funds, investing in individua stocks isn't realistic, so consider funds or just investing in markets like the FTSE100, FTSE250 etc. They will give you the spread and diversity to reduce risk.
I don't know much about sites like etoro, but I have had a look in the past and I didn't find it appealing, although I'm sure others will have experience of it.
Have clear goals in mind, and make yourself some investing rules, which will help avoid both panic selling and fomo buys.
And for goodness sake don't buy or sell on the back of anything you read on a BB. I think a lot of folks here mean well, but some not so much.
I use the BB's to give me other peoples views, which sometimes allows me to consider things I may not havve thought of, and to prompt my own further research.
I've been in the markets for nearly 30 years as an amature, and still consider myself an amature.
In that time I have built a reasonably sized portfolio of 21 stocks, but its taken time, as like you initially I had very limited funds.

These bb's are good to prompt me to look at things I may not have considered, or view the material from a different point of view.

Ok now I am baffled, the dividend cover I stated above must be wrong.
Hargreaves Lansdown, state in their research report dated 29th October, that the dividend is well covered by free cash flow, and should be sustainable.
