I view UU. as a good solid defensive play in uncertain times and beyond.

Well its around the £10.50 mark now, which isn't too shabby, and a divend above average, especially so for those of us that bought when the SP was lower.

ULVR is definately looking cheap, but I think it would have to go sub £37 before being at risk, and in that event would a takeover be a bad thing, it would depend on the intent I think.

I would not have believed it but I'm looking at a paper loss of just under 10% at the moment (excluding dividends).
Even so I'm not overly concerned as its a long term inclusion in what is a diversified portfolio, I am annoyed that I don't have any sizeable cash sum I could use to take advantage of this price.
I really should learn to hold some cash back for such opportunities, but I just don't like holding cash.

Crypto has made a lot of money for a lot of people, and I've been tempted, but its just not for me for a variety of reasons.

LLOY has had its ups and downs, and over the past 30 years or so I've been in and out of this stock on 3 or 4 occasions.
Probably by more luck than judgement its been good to me, and I raised a new position in earlier this year with a view to hold long term. It holds a few well know brands under its banner, and I think its new ventures may well add long term value.
I would like to see more investment in wealth management, but I think LLOY will provide good long term rewards.
Its never going to make a fortune overnight, but as part of a diversified portfolio, I think its well worth the investment risk.

I've only held AV. in my portfolio since June 21, and I'm looking at a paper loss of a little over 1.4%, which causes me no concern whatever. AV. is a dividend champion, with an above average dividend, which I intend to re-invest.
I see AV. as a long term part of my portfolio to join my other stalwarts.

BAE is a solid defensive stock which has dependably paid dividends for the last 21 years, with the exception of 2003.
I think its a good stock to hole through good times and uncertain times alike, and well worth inclusion in a varied portfolio.
I am of course biased as the stock has been good to me over the years, and its hard not to like a stock that rewards investment.

Despite only posting recently on this bb, I've held PLUS since July, and its one of the newer stocks in my portfolio.
It shows me a paper loss of a little over 6.3% at the moment, but if the dividend remains untouched the next year will more than cover that.
While previous dividends may not be replicated in the future, they do seem to have paid worthwhile dividends over the last 7 years, and that gives me confidence.

Thhankfully hasn't been as bad as I expected so far. I'm down about 1.6% on paper and if the dividend remains the same I should cover that over the next year.
The dividend does however seem too good to be true, only time will tell.

I've held ADM for a couple of years now, and its been dependable, and good to me.
Despite the drop in SP if I include dividends I'm still in profit, despite showing red on the SP.
ADM is one of my core stocks that would need a substantial change in the company for me to close my position.
I don't think you will regret holding long term and reinvesting the dividend.

Looks good for the role, lots of relevant experience.
Having good people in key roles is what VOD needs to move forward.

Little gains every day welcomed here.
Lets hope they continue in this trend.

I'm afraid I have no idea, it would just be another guess.

OPG is on my watch list, but I'm not buying yet.
I do like the exposure it would give me to the Indian market, and I already hold European/UK/African power utility stocks SSE, TRIG, UKW, AAF, NG., BP.
I'm not so keen on its reliance on coal to produce its electricity, and in the company report I read there is a lot of waffle, and little substance to its plans to increase renewables.
I will continue to watch this stock and monitor this BB, and if it hits a lower price point I have in mind I may make a small investment.
Or if I get a better sense of how the company intends to switch to renewables, a potentially bigger investment.
I believe India will continue to be a high growth area over the next decade and I am always on the lookout for stocks that will be able to profit from this.

I agree, I think we have become a bit over focused on Covid, and there is a bigger picture to be seen.
