Seems the way it goes. Usually, but not always (to my chagrin) it rises in the morning after a good finish on the Nasdaq. I have no evidence, just a gut feeling that it seems to rise in the afternoon in the US after we have closed.

Hi Mikey. I managed to sell them at 2 past 8 for 109.55 after fees thanks. Just missed a higher price by a single click.
Used the proceeds to buy them and a few more back later at 108.86 including fees and stamp duty.
Also bought another tranche at 107.85 fees inc when they dipped again, just sold a few less at 109.07 fees inc to recoup that purchase.
Having first bought in at around 165p a couple of years ago, my average is now 110.57. I consider this a good morning's work. Still leaves me some time to renovate my flat :)

Yes it is not logical. Something is going on, perhaps the debt, or, eventually, even VOD will be badly affected by a global recession. Tried to sell at 121 today but just failed to get there so back waiting. I have added quite a bit recently at under £1 so lowering my average cost to 111p. I am now waiting for another spike, sell and then buy back lower, hopefully before the divi announcement. Not unreasonable to ask for that, surely. I didn't want to sell at 120p and then see the share price proceed upwards, well I certainly got my wish!

Anyone willing to opine on the May earnings and dividend declaration? Is there likely to be movement closer to the time?

Well the £ has appreciated against the $ so not entirely surprising. I have done a bit of in and out and added a few shares for free this week, although if I had left things a bit later I would have been up a lot more. Now waiting for it to rise to 1.20 again to sell, or down to 1.10 to buy.

Did not think I neede to say it, but the article highlighted that hedge funds as a whole were reducing their exposure to VOD. I am still in, and hoping for the best, and have not done anything with that information.

Apparently some hedge funds are reducing their positions in VOD, seen a report about that (you know "look at what the hedge funds are doing, if you do the same you will pick the best shares") so that might be it.

Let me think... a director getting a divorce or a new yacht?
