RE: Amazing, never happened before !29 Jan 2021 22:12
That's a very good point CSDI. I bought last March at 138.38, having bought and sold earlier at higher prices, then kept buying until it fell to 93.66 on 17th March (all my historic prices include SD & fees), and never looked back, until you asked today.
Right now, I am maxed out, for sure, but I have built up a healthy cumulative profit. My break-even price is 110.65, and if it went up to 134.86 I would equal the highest paper profit I ever managed, on 4th June when the sp was 141p. So you can see my efforts have borne some fruit. If the sp went down, I would have lost less than if I had done nothing at all. That is the basis of day trading, as long as you are "successful" at it (actually, I don't know what constitutes a successful rate of return), it does not matter where the underlying value heads towards, although it is nice if it rises.
For this to work, you need some basic stability, a tight buy-sell spread, and just enough volatility to overcome the stamp duty threshold.
