I see that my monthly Vodafone contract has increased by 19p to a staggering £20.69. No wonder the share price is doing so well recently. Note to shorters: I might shop around a bit for a sim-only contract when it expires at the end of this year.

I presume that Greensill extended the open hand of hospitality to senior execs of their customer base. I am sure that they were well able to organise a p-up in a s****y ****tail bar.

An infrequent acquaintance works (worked) at Greensill, so I found out on Sunday. Best known as an outrageous party girl who will turn up as Catwoman or a Bond Girl. The story is that staff there were earning loads of dosh and living it up big time. Hopefully another bank will recognise her talents pdq.

Happy with today's rise. As per my rules, I have sold three tranches all at a profit, and now waiting for it either to rise above 129.50 or to fall below 127.50.

Would you know why Vod was a major customer of Greensill which was a bank firmly in the category of lender of last resort to struggling companies? The only reason I can think of is to skew the accounts in some way, unless more is afoot.

The relevant aspect of this to this chat is that Vod were a large customer of Greensill, one would have thought that Vod would not need the services of essentially an expensive factor just so that Vod can get their mitts on their sales cash a little earlier than otherwise would be the case.
I can understand that a steel manufacturer under pressure might need this, but Vod? It's a bit like, if you start using payday lenders, it can seriously affect your credit rating, and this is what it appears Vod has done here.

Oops, another bank goes bust. Strangely, Vodafone appears to have been one of it's (few) customers. From what I have heard, everyone there was earning loads of dosh, but no more. Why did Vodafone get involved? After all, Greensill was supposed to exist to help small businesses get over their cash flow problems.
Still, as best mates of Dave Cameron and regular visitor to the Treasury, Lex Greensill will probably do ok.

Yes this should be part of the basic service. Smacks of desperation if Vod, or anyone else, is trying to put this forward as an add-on.

Hi Dan, yes it has risen well on the NAS last night, 127.85 by my reckoning. Just read the following in my newsfeed:

"Nokia and Vodafone ... have managed to beam files across a network at speeds of 100Gbps.
The speeds have been made possible thanks to something called Passive Optical Network (PON) technology which makes data transmission more efficient. The trial, which took place in Vodafone's Eschborn lab in Germany last month, could pave the way for homes to see vastly improved speeds in the coming years."

CSDI, I can answer you properly now, having just emerged from the cellar after three days' hard work down there. My previous post on the recent movements downwards refers. I added all the way down to 125.7p and then ran out of cash. I am now waiting for it to rise to 126p when I could sell a tranche. My recent purchases average out at 128.83 to sell to recover the outlay. There is no reason why the sp should not approach that number in the next month, is there?

It's gone back up again this evening. Hope the Daq holds ... 126p tomorrow would be great. I am doing paperwork and not down in the cellar putting in underfloor heating pipes.

Hi Dan, not sure how my strategy works, but if I miss an opportunity because I am up a ladder or on the road, it's not the end of the world, there are others. After the recent falls, the sp is back in my zone today so I will keep the mobile on to check every now and again. I will start reducing once the sp reaches 126p.

For now, but a few years down the line and once the Chinese have theirs up ...

PFen, long term growth? In this competitive industry without any idea of any new products? With Musk's satellite technology with the potential for grabbing a huge slice of terrestrial communications even masts?
I have my mobile with Vod and I was canvassed for a new product recently, and asked for my opinion. Turned out it was for additional security features that they were trying to add on, and which I had previously turned down a year ago. Hardly groundbreaking.

OK. Does anyone know if Vod has any exciting new products under development? I was bullish about Vod a couple of years ago, but no longer, now I (think I) know better.

Are you saying that hedge funds and institutions don't always act ethically and 100% correctly? Have you any evidence for this slur on their integrity?
