Sold out at 75p having bought a year ago at £1.14, some you win, some you lose. There are better opportunities out there. At least I won't have to listed to the nonsense from members, Mr. D etc. anymore.

Sold all my Barclays at a considerable loss, at least now I don't have to read all the nonsense from the likes of BOOMERBOWER et al.

I do not understand why people invest in funds, on average they perform worse than simply buying a passive index tracker.

Too true, I was invested in PMO and I'm amazed by the number of posters on there who comment many times a day, usually complaining that they are losing money due to MMs manipulation and shorts, it's obviously nothing to do with their poor investment decisions.

I'm surprised at the lack of comments here, this is one of the best performing FTSE shares of the last few months with strong momentum, one of the few shares in my portfolio that is making money.

Tom, catch GGP right and it could be a good earner but too much of a gamble for me. Also very dubious when MMs and traders are blamed for the price falling.

Disappointing today, Woodford a bit of a disaster, he had a good run but looks like his luck has run out.

Hi Tom, had a quick look at GGP, looks like it's fallen 41% since January, I'm surprised you are so bullish about it.

Hope not Solley, I voted to leave and I still expect the result of the referendum to be delivered, for the sake of democracy if nothing else.

Agree WW, if only life was that simple we would all buy before ex-div date and then sell at a profit.

Last year the day before ex div day the price was £1.98, 2 weeks earlier it was £1.99.

Probably because nobody is bothered about the FA cup anymore, now if it was the premier league or champions league that would be good news.
Also, volumes can be high because lots of people want to sell.

You make no sense. On the 7th you say "this has 350 written all over it", 3 days later you bought at 447. On the 13th you say "480 by end of week" and 3 days later "it's the beginning of the climb back up". And then you claim you sold at 456, but only claim that after the price has fallen 9%.

Bad luck BB, I admired your optimism and hoped that a big profit would be made but ultimately I am not surprised where we have ended up. Unfortunately you cannot trust anybody in business and MB is the latest in a long line of people who is only interested in himself and doesn't care who he shafts to achieve his objectives.

Yep, ITV wasn't my finest hour, bought at £2.54 and finally bailed out at £1.35. The last year has been tough with my momentum strategy not doing particularly well, my biggest loser being VCT which has fallen from £32 to £20. I have a small profit with TW but my saviour in the last year has been Ocado, which I bought at £3.55 and is now £12.38.

Perhaps I was a bit unfair about AIM, my comments were based on what I have read about AIM rather than personal trading experience. No doubt there are some good companies on AIM, I suppose the danger is it is easier for these to be manipulated due to looser regulation.

Also in for at least a year, I agree that Mr D's strategy makes no sense, you can't sell shares just because they've dropped a couple of points.

Personally I wouldn't touch AIM but each to their own.

Agree KAISHARP, nobody on here has any idea where the price will go to, unless you are trading (and most traders lose money) then looking at the share price every minute of the day is pointless, people need to get a life. I make profits on 70% of my investments, if PMO turns out to be one of the 30% then so be it, I'll move on but won't be bitching about whose fault it is because it will have been mine.

I had a FTSE350 company with AJ Bell taken over by a Canadian company. When I finally sold the Canadian company it cost me a lot with a dealing charge of £30, FX charges of 1% but worst of all the price I got was about 10% less than they quoted it at, apparently due to the spread. In future I will sell my shares before the takeover.
As to selling at a loss this is probably one of the key lessons novice investors can learn, do not hold on to a loss-making share in the hope that it will recover, they rarely do.
