I must admit I don't quite get day trading, by the time you've paid stamp duty, commission and taking into account the spread you need to be correct an awful lot of the time to make any decent money. I think I read somewhere that 90% of day traders lose money but if it works for you good luck.

I've had Ocado now for a couple of years when they were £3.50 so they've been a fantastic investment for me. They seem to have run out of steam a bit in the last 3 months so I'll probably sell at the end of this month.

Tullow's been a bit of a disaster in the last couple of months and I would be very wary of buying these. I don't have a good track record with oil related shares although I have just bought Premier based on recent momentum.

Back in here based on recent momentum and also the dividend. Invested here twice before in 2012 and 2014 and made 70% and 40% in a year so hopefully more of the same this time.

DHC, I hope nobody took your advice on Westminster, obviously the market didn't think the update was as good as you did. If I had to give one piece of advice it would be steer clear of AIM shares. In particular, having dealt with African governments I wouldn't touch these shares with a bargepole.

I take these ratings with a pinch of salt but the market does seem to react.
With regard to Xmas, this happens every year so shouldn't really have any impact on the price.

Over the last 50 years when the conservatives have been in power share prices have increased more than wages, when labour has been in power wages have increased more than share prices. So today's news should be good news for shareholders, perhaps not so for those in work.

I see the same names appear with these shares when they fall in value claiming what excellent value they now are and with the odd exception they continue to fall, TCG, DEB, KIE, MTRO etc. Momentum works both ways, it has worked very well for me with OCDO but I would be very wary of investing in a share which has had a big fall.
Personally I never have more than 10% in any one share. One guy in Tullow had invested all his money (£350k) and had lost £250k.

I actually find this board quite informative and entertaining. Brexit could well be the biggest impact on TW over the next few months so it is highly relevant.

Nige, I agree with you that the fundamental reason for climate change is too many people, this seems to be the elephant in the room that nobody wants to discuss.
I disagree with your views on NS though, her blinkered view on independence for Scotland before all else would probably be a disaster for Scotland.

I tend to look at 1,2 and 3 months positive momentum before I invest.

SAM12345, a word of advise, do not follow people on a BB. NI may have add a few recent wins but I do recall him being bullish on the likes of DEB, TCG, SXX, MTRO etc., all of which have turned out to be a bit of a disaster.

OLIG, I'll be honest, I don't know why momentum works but it does in the majority of cases. I agree that fundamentals in the long term will determine what will happen to the share price but the problem is that nobody knows what the future holds. Unless you know something that the market doesn't you are probably better following the market.

OLIG, I bought Halma on the basis of positive momentum. My concern with Fevertree would be is the big fall in the SP over the last few months (down 31% in the last 3 months), although a slight bounce today. It was a good share when it had momentum behind it but not so sure now.

Good update today continues the positive momentum. Up 33% in just over 2 months so very pleased with this investment.
