Can anyone offer any explanation as to why the reported spread is still so large? I understood it when we were trading at fractions of a penny before consolidation, but not now?

Long time lurker, first time poster. Have to admit that while I think it is great to see the small guys get a slice of the pie for once, I still feel theres going to be a lot of 'small' men sat on huge paper gains curently who are going to be left in a world of hurt when it comes to people wanting/needing to unwind their positions in it.
