Had this special dividend situation with TSCO when they sold their Asian business. Absolute farce. Lot better uses of that capital if it were to be raised

313 proving to be offering some resistance, second time it's failed to hold that in the last few days.

I dunno if it's got a little further to fall yet to be fair, it's still on my watch list though.. can definitley see an opportunity at the right price.

Sold cheap? Possibly but you can't legislate for the spike in gas prices we've seen in the last few weeks. Bit harsh.

A dividend that is paid quarterly or at half year in addition to the main dividend at the end of the financial year. It's usually, but not always, smaller than the main dividend paid after the company's financial year has ended.

Agreed Compound, dropped my BP. at 312 yesterday as well, will be back in below 285. Aim is to build holding currently.

Smallish amount on ENET on aim, they seem to be quietly building a strong position in the emerging market for 5G mobile phone network hardware with their patented tech. Also got a large holding in TSCO, mainly as a result of working for them for the last 18 years.

Got a chunk in ENET but that now is my only AIM stock.

No worries, just used to only seeing them issued on shares that are seeing big price movements intraday.

Got my fingers burnt to an extent with 88e. Then got inpatient and sold out and lost an opportunity to sell at a 50%ish profit last year when the Reddit brigade started randomly throwing cash at it. But I guess you can't really legislate for that.

..but no price movement.

A small drop the morning after a share has seen a large rise is generally normal, if anything it's quite a healthy thing as it shows we aren't on the road to a large but unsustainable spike.

Now trading at a 40p discount to NAV.. am tempted to have a dip.

Nice rise today, more importantly a bit of volume going through at the same time too.

If an institution is selling it may be as simple as they are offloading as fossil fuels and in turn BP doesn't fit their profile any more these days.

Hopefully the latter moni, however I would issue a word of caution around the rise of in particular the US stock market. I just have a feeling that it's currently a bubble that is gonna burst, and burst big at some point. It's being driven by their central bank just printing more and more money and that isn't sustainable.

As someone who is in the employ of tsco, and has been for nearly two decades, I hope it never happens. So many horror stories of PE takeovers being followed by drastic cost cutting, job losses and asset stripping. I'd rather continue working for a stable company that has its destiny in its own hands than take the one-off share bonanza that would come with a PE offer.

Fairview - snap, done that a couple of times where I've invested in small companies with promise and allowed impatience to get the better of me, only to see that growth come some time after selling. All part of the learning process, and something I do not wish to repeat here.
