I don't find it at all negative, bearing in mind the magnitude of the project.

However, what I still find strange is TD's statement in August 2018, that FID would be announced by Feb 2019.
At the time, had he got commercial funding lined-up, so thought he could make such an announcement, or was he just being a wally?
Whatever the reason, for an experienced and relatively cautious CEO, this seems to have been more than just "a bit of a balls-up".

So Nige, the answer to the question: "after 2014, how many FID were actually done for any offshore oil?" is PoO?

Yes, we've quite often had "BUYs" shown as "SELLs", but less frequently the other way round.

Wouldn't let it bother you and I take a lot less notice of that aspect of the share trade data these days, because it's so unreliable.

Well, PoO is taking a bit of a bashing right now and we really don't know which way it's going for the current period, during which funding decisions are being made.

Even if EC funding isn't approved for a few months, those who do make that decision will be looking back at period, starting at the end of May 2019, for some guidance about what the PoO might do, before approving funding.

So while it may not be "bad news", it's not what we would wish either.

I agree with Mogger & Comertoes - we've known about this for a long time.

Like them, I can't quite remember exactly when the penny dropped, which in itself is an indicator of just how long ago it must have been.

I'm keeping calm about it - it's not my money invested anyway, but my children's & grandchildren's, so if it all goes tits-up, they're going to have to work a bit longer, buy one or two fewer Range Rovers and have slightly fewer holidays in the sun (by then, the Maldives will have gone).

We could do with a bit of an upset to the World's oil/gas supplies right now, just to remind the decision makers what it might be like to run out when you're dependent on the Saudis, the Qataris and a few other choice "friends"!

The Civil Service continues to operate while all that goes on and being unnecessarily optimistic now, but it could even be to PMO's advantage.

The point I'm making is why should anything else you post, when you go on and on and on, be any more valid/truthful?
