As well as taking years to design and commission and costing a bloomin' fortune, the latest nuclear technology is proving problematic and Hinkley Point is already affected by such problems, so we can't rely on nuclear to get us out of the hole we're in.
Probably, the forecasters predicted nuclear as humanity's great energy saviour and now it's all falling apart, with an expanding World population, we're faced with having to continue with fossil fuels for longer than most would consider sensible.
Anyway, whatever the oiks are saying, the current problems around the Strait of Hormuz, although undesirable and worrying, are very nicely timed for any decision maker wondering whether oil production in the FI region is a bad idea.
