As I posted a few weeks ago, BBC Radio 4 Money Box did an interesting report on the practicalities of owning/running an EV.

Money Box isn't known for exaggerating, but as far as the UK is concerned, came to the conclusion that, with a very few exceptions, EVs are currently not worth owning. Conventional cars, especially petrol, are far easier to own/run.

It acknowledged that "one day" EVs will probably take over, but that "one day" is still quite a way off.

It was also pointed out that current EV technology isn't that brilliant and the environment cost of manufacturing them is considerable.

Sorry Lucretius, but if the CEO gives duff info, more than once, about the same issue (FID) during formal interviews, then people are bound to be sceptical.

Even if TD thought he was being truthful at the time, it shows him up to be lacking in judgement and not having his finger 100% on the pulse.
Now it could be that he based his statements on info given to him by his management team, but I'm afraid that's not really an excuse, as he's the one ultimately making the decisions and statements.

As someone else posted, maybe a big part of the problem is the misinformation given by TD and virtually nothing from Sam, which together is pretty terrible, considering this is such a critical stage of such a potentially big deal.

Sam's continued silence is pretty awful, but TD announcing FID incorrectly more than once is unforgiveable. Some might say he was blatantly lying, while others might say that it shows he hasn't got his finger on the project's pulse, and others might say that, as CEO, if you're not quite sure about such an important issue, then say nothing until you are sure.

Whatever the reason(s), it's probably been enough to make nervous/sceptical investors keep their money safely elsewhere until a proper formal announcement is made.

However, all this helps to explain all the detail that needs negotiating/sorting before FID/sanction.

As I’ve said for a long time, in a pristine new region, there’s a lot to be done before the starting gun is fired, so with everything else to consider, those who are surprised by delays are not thinking clearly.

Cyan2, I think you'll find that at least some/most of the endlessly negative posters here are those who've messed up badly, bet the house on RKH as a dead cert (PoO over $100, etc.) and then realising it's NOT a dead cert.

But they're too stupid/ignorant to trade their way out of trouble, so just come here to moan at everyone else (including fellow shareholders), instead of accepting responsibility for their own stupidity.

I've put most of them on ignore and laugh at the rest - poor fools!

Actually Nige, in his original post, Ralphy said he had a "trance" at 92p, which makes more sense than his usual drivel.

Anyway, just popped by to see if Nige is still spending 24/7, trying to convince everyone he knows something that no one else knows, and he is.
You have to wonder when he finds time to have a life. By the quality of his posts, it looks like he doesn't have a life, other than posting: "FID/Sanction 2019 - STRONG BUY"!

BTW, I'll eat my hat if there's a RNS announcement on Monday.

Of course it's not just bad luck that's got us to where we are now, but it has been a significant factor and we shouldn't forget that.
The problems thrown at SM and the BoD would be more than most posters here could navigate/handle successfully, so I don't completely blame them, except that they've been awful at communicating and outrageously greedy in rewarding themselves, probably over-confident that they were sitting on so much top quality oil, so what could possibly go wrong?

They're not really up to the job, now it's all going wobbly, which is why we're seeing such poor direction from the top.
And that's why I reckon TD sees this as a potential opportunity to snap it all up, when shareholders will probably accept anything to get out.

If that's the best contribution you can offer this BB, better not to offer anything at all.

I'd want to get my hands on those FI oil field licences outright, without the complications of some tin-pot outfit getting in the way.
I'd strike as licence renewal approached, during an economic downturn, when the markets are depressed, the PoO is depressed the RKH sp and RKH shareholders are depressed.

If I were SM and had got wind of this, I'd be propping-up my balance sheet by disposing of assets that aren't my core business interest and hoping for a BIG arbitration award for my OM claim, which could be added to my balance sheet assets.

But I don't think there'll be any announcement on Monday. The anticipation of good news is rarely preceded by a sp crashing.

For those of us who can see the sp fall to an all time low, the PoO fall at a time when World oil supplies look precarious, when our BoD keep us in the dark and don't put their hands in their pockets to invest in this spectacular opportunity, another promised announcement date passes without anything, etc., etc.

Then there's this Nigoil who pops-up all day, every day to tell us that this is the greatest investment, a "STRONG BUY" and FID/sanction will be 2019, while the likes of TD and Sam don't even utter a word to confirm any of this, so Nigoil knows things not even they would appear to know.
If you dare say anything contrary to the Great Nigoil's ordinances, he immediately comes down on you like a ton of bricks, but without any reasoned argument, but just that he knows stuff that we don't and you'd better believe him, or else.
He also copies others' posts and offers them as his own.
Post something that Nigoil doesn't like at any time of day and within minutes, there's his reply.

Who on earth can waste so much of their life, commenting on a BB about such an unimportant share as RKH? You have to admit that it's really committed and aggressive about such a non-company.
So is this Nigoil an automaton, or a nut case, or what?

I don't believe I've often come across such a brazen cheat/liar (Nigoil), who when caught out attempts to cast the one off whom he's cheated as the villain.

I just hope other readers now treat your own material with the contempt it deserves.

Interesting World you live in, Nige, where the one who copies others' work and posts it as his own (you) should be the one to decide when to close that matter and not those he's deceived.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with you - if you copy someone else's work and you serve it up as your own, without any attribution, that's wrong and we all know that, especially if you're happy to accept other reader's "Recommend" approvals, which in this case were 8 and 9.

He only had to make an attribution and there would have been no issue.

No Nige, the matter's NOT closed, if you think you can copy other peoples' posts, post them as your own and then get silly about it when you've been caught out.

You need to be exposed for the cheat/liar you are, especially if others reading your posts then make an important financial decision.

Well, on 5/4/19, the day of the first post of mine you copied, the RKH sp was around 26p and closed at about 25.75p.
How do you explain that?
