Already sold. Who says Anglo won’t walk?

There’s so much ignorance on this board it’s staggering. Anglo American is a UK company. It’s quoted on the FTSE but is also listed in South Africa. Very many of its interests are in South Africa like platinum and diamonds. A purchase in the UK would be a departure for the company.

There’ll be a lot of whingeing about the BOD on here. Some of it is undoubtedly fair in my opinion. However if you want to blame anyone do what I do and look in the mirror. You’ll see greed right there. The big financial loss is obviously the major negative. The big positives are 5.5p a share when zero is the alternative, being taken over by an ethical company which is (more or less) domiciled in the UK, jobs for a hundred years, helping feed the world AND not being tempted to read drivel on this board from investors with no experience and faux experts. You know who you are.

That includes me mate. But at least I realised it months ago. I knew it was a risk. I am a gambler by nature but I didn’t bet the lot. I have a wide portfolio and broke my own rules. I’ve paid a price and lost tens of thousands but it affects my lifestyle not one jot. Others aren’t so fortunate. Lesson learned.

Simple Groover. If it proceeds as anticipated in a few months we get 5.5p per share in cash. That’s how the stock market works. And despite losing tens of thousands I’ll be voting in favour because for several months now there’s been little alternative. Anyone who thinks differently is a mug.

No manipulation. People day trading and making money. That’s how markets work. It was like this at the beginning and it remains so. Pay no attention to the daily price movements. We are either going to get a few pence a share or lose the lot. Probably the latter. Any funding will come at massive cost to shareholders if it comes at all.

Good post. It’s all become really boring. I’ve mentally written off a very large sum of money. Move on and hope for the best. I recently saw that investors would “have” to be given 27p a share if the company went private. That was drivel of the highest order.

Well one has to keep the paid deramping crews at bay in readiness for the 10p party. I can get where CF is coming from. They know who they are.....

The so called Thomas Cook scandal has nothing to do with the government except in so far as it is doing an excellent job of bringing the stranded home.

I think it’s time to wind down the rhetoric JR. Whether it’s over or not the irrational ramping really should stop. There are no deramping crews. This is business. It’s the market in action. I’m hugely down because I ignored my own investment rules. No one to blame but myself. But this kind of nonsense really isn’t helping anyone. Go for a walk. Watch a football match. Drink at the pub. Anything. But stop the years long ramping and either sell up or, like me, let the game play out.
