Charles you said you were buying at £5, £6, £7 , £8 even £9 on the way up and again on the way down. I recall you getting excited once about buying some and it going up enough for you to have trip in Paris on eurostar.
Nobody buys that many shares and hold your hands up you have no intension of buying an extra 10%.

I still believe in Dark and am long on it, but the top up window has passed that was when it was around £3.
There are some bargains out there much more worthy of your hard earned cash.
Oh and in reply to you valuation you are more likely to see around £5 next summer you are looking at the wrong accounts or just a clueless ramper if you think it is £6.
Follow the financials not the BS.

Got 8k shares with average of 90p.
Hopeful of one day getting even a 25p dividend on them.
Though the way things have dragged out I have written them off as a lesson learned.

Yes if they have earnt it. For now making 1.46m from a turnover of 415m doesn't constitute a pat on the back and a few million worth of shares.

It will not stop them they will always find away to strip more cash out of the business for themselves.

Starting to move in the right direction. Covid lockdowns were always going to hold the Chinese stocks back and at some point that was always going to change. Well done to all those that opened or added to their positions over the last month.
Next on my list is Europe. Goes without saying the war and inflation are the headwinds for those stocks but at some point that will change.

If it was not for the level of individual debt I would agree with you Seaking. There was scope back in the 80s and 90s to raise interest rates all the way up to 12% in 92. Unfortunately they never cooled the housing market and have allowed it to get out of control. Anything near 10% will see mortgage defaults on a scale never seen before leading to a housing crash that will spiral so far out of control mortgages will be placed on hold and people will be allowed to pay what they can afford. That inturn leading to another banking crash.

Its pointless now saying what an absolute pi sstake that is.

It has been briefly touched on but not in great depth. So as you mentioned you did not apply for the paper share certificate and left in HL. In that case then unfortunately you have lost the lot, it has all gone and will be swallowed up in corporate legal battles. Only those with paper certificates will be able to sell and will also keep all the cash that those that didn't apply for paper certificates missed out on.
If these were part of your pension plan then I advise you to continue in looking to work for an extra 5 years to pay off the losses.

100% correct Lending and a concur with all your points. When Darktrace last year said they were doing share buybacks everyone assumed that this was in teh traditional manner and reducing overall shares. Instead they gave them to the Staff.
There is no benefit for any shareholder when share buy backs are done for teh only purpose of lining the pockets of those in charge.
Also when they created new shares for the sole purpose of giving them to the directors that really did take the pi ss.
