Hi Vinson - just to let you know that MIC have approx 8% holding in Amigo, not 16%. Their shareholding is 38,026,839 as per the RNS on 20th March, but according to Bloomberg a couple of weeks ago, their holding is 38.23m (8.04%). Cheers

Whether Vinson indeed has 15.75m shares or 15 shares, I don't really care. I bought this stock after performing months of my own research and people shouldn't be investing full stop if they are doing so on the basis of the opinions of a faceless BB!

Hi Franky. Interesting point about the bondholders. One thing I have noticed is that the price of senior 7.625% 2024 bonds has rocketed from 50 in January to 85 now. It wouldn't be a surprise to me if Bybrook were buying the bonds in the background so that they could restructure the debt, in addition to them buying CFDs to take advantage of a rising share price. Last time I checked, JPM owns 9% of the firm and Mubadala owns 8%. Cash offers for a takeover must be made once a holding is at 30% (I believe) at the highest share price over the preceeding 12 months which is 32p. Like I said before, the takeover rumour might be just that - a rumour! And I wouldn't want to sell at 32p either, but its interesting reading either way.

Ha yes sharealot, I should have caveated that comment with 'generally speaking, there's no smoke without fire.' I guess it gives more credibility to the rumour if more and more news agencies report it

Agreed inforanickel. It's possible that a takeover attempt is being launched now because the share price is still depressed compared to the long term potential. Obviously if the SOA is passed and relending starts, the price will shoot up dramatically so now it a good time to make a cheeky bid and see if shareholders bite

According to bloomberg, it looks like a takeover rumour is doing the rounds as reported by The Times. I have a screenshot of the bloomie screen but can't bloody post it!

Agree..now is the time to hold and not give in to the temptation to panic sell. It easier said than done, but try to ignore (or better still, enjoy!) the short term ups and downs. Rewards will come for those who are patient.

clearly a shortage of available shares here, causing the price to get pushed up in dramatic fashion. Not that I'm complaining though!
