At the moment the sellers hold sway causing the share price to drift down. But this is all on such meagre volumes, for example only 6 trades amounting to about £16k on Friday. It feels more like apathy than a concerted move to drive the share in any direction. Something significant like solid production information or a new acquisition will result in more interest and higher trading activity - hopefully upwards; but this is AIIM so normal rules apply!

It will be interesting when full 2018 figures are published to be able to take stock, especially as there has been decent progress in the first 9 months. Perversely the delay on SD will probably flatter the figures as up to $15 Capex is shifted into 2019.
It should give us a good guide to calculating how 2019 will turn out with the addition of the SD production, all things being equal which I suspect they won't.

I accept that comparing oil and gas is like comparing apples and pears but my point was simply that with increased production, revenues and hopefully profits that either the 2017 price was over-optimistic or today's 20% lower price is underpriced by some margin.

That said my view is clearly in the minority as there are more sellers than buyers again today.

In the last week of 2017 SDX reported volumes of 3,237 bopde with a share price in the low 50p range. By the end of this year with SD online plus some organic growth, we could be at three times those volumes.

This is not wishful thinking like some boards hoping for jam tomorrow but based on actually producing fields and with regulatory approval for others now in place.

If this is not justification enough for a higher price then I have to agree that I don't see what will move the price.

Seems most people are selling today - so the share price is on the way down again.

Buy some shares is what needs to be done. There simply is no buying pressure here; just look at the trades and volumes. There was increased buying a few days ago and the shares did rise albeit from a really low level.

As I have observed before relatively low volumes can move this share, and when you compare it to similar companies who are traded like wildfire even on quiet days SDX feels like a comfortable pair of old slippers! Oh well back to the Horlicks!

I am fascinated by the posting here, many comments of which I agree with on both sides of the argument.

Two things strike me here though is the absence of comments about market makers screwing with the investors and the low volume of trading as opposed to other Oilers where activity seems manic. Which leads me to the belief, that unless we are all wrong, that this is a decent company in which to invest and should provide good returns long term.

I am also a holder (with a sizeable chunk for me) and supporter. I also did not expect to be sitting on a paper loss at the moment but am in here for the long term and trust the value will out over time.

That said with the sentiment as it is then when SD is eventually turned on I don't expect any fireworks with the share price. It might even be 2020 when major cash generation is seen for a proper re-rating of this share.

I have been looking at the trading over a while now and it is generally very thin but will still move the price; for example, the erosion over the last few months was not driven by any major trading. I suspect that many are sitting tight making this a fairly illiquid share causing an exaggerated change in small volumes. Just a theory but better than the market maker's manipulation that is blamed for any movement not to a shareholder's liking!
