Normal rules of supply and demand do not seem to operate here. Surely if there is a shortage of shares the MM should be adjusting the price to encourage sellers and allow people to buy. Just seems so odd that they want to hold the price back as they make their money on volume and the margin.

I was musing that there is yet another theory behind the uptick in purchases. If certain investors liked to keep a balanced portfolio across business sectors then E&P would feature. So with an oil price that is going to be depressed for the foreseeable future a gas focused company would have attractions and be a safer investment in the medium term. Just a theory but no worse than some of the dross you see on these boards.

Something definitely happening. No doubt whatever is starting to drive the price will become apparent soon.

In the current situation it is almost impossible to value any E&P company. Thankfully SDX has a reasonable cash flow, even in these difficult times. Maybe if they can build a small war chest there are likely to be some worthwhile distressed assets out there. The only problem is that there are going to be so many bombed out companies which do you choose?

Maybe you should compare this against the Shell share price which has completely collapsed as well so not just the minnows.

Probably lots as there are going to be so many bombed out companies drowning debt not able to service them at theses prices; that assuming they were making money in the first place.

I think people recognise this as we are down in line with the market generally unlike some of the predominately oil companies whose share prices are being decimated - 50% down in some cases.

I doubt if SDX had more than a cursory look at Sound for no other reason they are in the same general location. Sound has huge potential reserves but that is all it is currently - potential.
I suspect that you would need deeper pockets then SDX to realise anything from Sound.

Best news I've heard after he pumped the share while Swelchy was in charge. Maybe the new management has stopped feeding the walrus!
Onwards from here with simple solid progress

I am at little more sanguine about this as I take some comfort from the cruise liner parked up in Japan. Experts have commented that the quarantine regs were not good. Which could explain why a large minority have tested positive. The other side of the coin is the majority are clear in what was a micro environment.

It is also the case that many may get infected but I have not seen evidence that many exhibit serious symptoms or actually die as a result. As someone mentioned flu is a greater killer.

One last stat to consider is that in a country with a population of 1bn with everyone living 100 years you would still have a death rate of 2,739 per day of ‘natural causes’.

I does seem strange that we have regular news of substantial purchases and no sign that the main shareholders are selling any. So my question is who is actually selling and logically the free float must be getting tighter all the time yet the share goes south.

Gradual attrition on no volume at all. It's all a bit depressing, just like the dank Monday it is.

It is completely barking - there obviously is buying pressure and Valerie's purchase backs that up yet the share price just slides back down

It is hard to see what is actually needed to get the price up at a sustainable level.

Strange mysterious seller stalking SDX with an apparently almost inexhaustible supply of shares to hold the price back! Yet we know the main holders are not moving so who else has the resources - or may it be simply people trading the shares for marginal gains? I know where my money goes and I am not selling mine at this level.

I must admit I didn't expect much from this RNS but it does seem to be more of steady as she goes - no fireworks but no horrors so hopefully a gentile increase in value throughout the year. Unless someone starts taking a keen interest in the value locked away here.

What I would be more interested in is some specifics about doubling the SD production which should be a no- brainier to cheaply increase.income.

Shakey, you may be right but just think if an institutional investor started to hoover up available shares from a limited pool

Pretty good day but looking at the pattern of the buying it does not look like the institutional investors are engaged as yet. When, and if, they do things will start happening.
