So how come all the criticism after the fact? How is Deeks allowed to spout criticism and new figures if it has been validated by government program? Assume it is because it was validated only for POC and not self test?

Where exactly was their LFT validated - do we know? Appears to be being validated as we go... with reviews by Deeks

Has anyone worked out how Innova’s LFT got approval? Or is it just being used to see if it works because it is all we can get? My point being is whether the government is happy to just go with everything as a pilot and champion challenger it... I’m thinking there would be eyebrows raised if any UK LFT wasn’t given the same ‘let’s give it a shot’ attitude. Is that what this tender is about??

sure disappointing but yet if the affimers still work really well then it bodes well for so much else. We know it is really good for BAMs. Just have to get through the hurdle of Clinical validation - and Perdita is all over it. The reason we are all down is because of having to read between lines and given false hopes of 'shouldn't be much longer' and 'shortly'. That bit AS is accountable for. However, the science part, the part he is good at - we can't fault, certainly not yet.

I thought the unique selling point was affimers and the s&s that would acheive. AS has hinted that it is very good. We all know they will sell what they make. Additionally if affimers are good it bodes well for cancer. I think we know BAMs will work. We know there will be more testing and if BAMs is quicker and cheaper then that will be great for Avacta. We are nearly there. We are all annoyed yes with the lack of transparency, but we were never going to get full transparency... but I think suggesting it is over with saliva is a fixation we need to let go of for a moment. If AS didn't pivot then we would be much worse off.

So you have to zoom out a bit... why were we all so thumbs up over saliva as a sample? ONLY because no one wanted a long swab poking through their brain and rubbing on tonsils for 15 seconds (if you haven't done the PCR sample collection then I kid you not...) a quick painless anterior nasal swab is different and in my opinion is fine as an alternative to splitting some saliva into a tube. So the 'saliva failure' isn't the problem. All anyone wants is a 10 -20 min result that is repeatable over say a 7 day period to minimise isolation. We want a better product than innova and we want a government contract.

Today has been rife with emotions and feelings of being misled. I think we n terms of importance - so think the saliva test is actually fairly low compared with a LFT full stop. I think in terms of young school age children and nursery children a nasal LFT would be preferable as small children can’t spit - certainly not into a small tube on demand anyway! I have no issue with the divert to swab but I do take issue with the sale of shares knowing this information. However saying that an RNS to that effect mid Oct would have sunk the SP and the vaccine on top could have possibly put us predominantly sub £1. None the less I agree with your analysis bar with the caveat that the high risk saliva LFT far less important than it was.

Windrum if those words are close in your dictionary it would explain your lack of perspective. A limited vocabulary makes for a one dimensional view.

We all backed the underdog. Small pharma with great science relying on third parties. The risk/reward was huge and Al was going to save the world. Now the fans in the cheap seats are chilled as they have zoomed out. The fans in the expensive front seats (for whatever reason - avg buy or total invested) are angry and hacked off. They feel like they backed the wrong horse who has a new stable.

Will BAMs not come off ? VERY unlikely.
Will they miss the covid boat? Unlikely - even Boris agrees.
Will there be an LFT? Sure there will.
Will it be better than innova - probably.
Will it be bought. Undoubtedly.
Will a vaccine work? Maybe.
Will we need testing to work that out? Definitely.
Is the AVA6000 gonna come off? Maybe - Maybe not.

Chengdo - yes - I think BAMs is more exciting... I think the lab testing infrastructure is set up now ( we had a guy on here saying the structures are contracted for another 12-18 months) and if the megalabs are going to be equipped with ONLY a bunch of PCR testing - I think that would be the wrong way to go. We have seen MS on twitter and the government alluding to it (contracts etc) so if I would trying to future proof the labs, I would be setting up space and filling with the current machines and leaving space and budget for new tech. The LFT will be great when they come as it will reduce isolation, but I don't think it will be the ONLY form of testing and clearly the government know that and are setting up 'mega labs'. From the research on here - we thought we were fairly in front in terms of MS tech with BAMS. NO???

PL - we all said we didn't care about the swap to swab last week. Now you are backtracking because of it not being RNS'd and Sir Al sold his shares. I get that. But if Al knew that the swab was going to work at that point, then you could argue he was a confident as he could be at getting a product to market. I do get the frustration I do - and there have been some errors for sure. But equally we have been excessively reading between every line - even lines that didn't exist. My point would be that Al said Q4 and we aren't off track from that. We all thought January for LFT - and I can still see that happening. I see BAMS as getting there sooner. Do you not?

Can't anyone see the problem with PCR tests? All over the place people are calling it out as too sensitve. Too many false positives. How do we reduce the isolation time. We need all kinds of tests. If you think the government is going to set up superlabs with just PCR machines then honestly that would be so stupid as it is clear the government are interested in MS - we can see it in the tenders and with Condor etc. It will be quicker and will likely pick up the infectious rather than anyone with a tiny fragment of dead virus. AS talks about this in his video this morning. I would be happy with BAMS in December. Two weeks ago we had resigned ourselves to LFT in January... why are we now upset? Because the SP shot up and we have a holding RNS again with no timescales which leaves us open to traders taking advantage of sentiment. We duh!

Doh and PL - I get the frustration - I am too. Step 1 has been soo long without clear intermediately steps. The Step 2 of validation is unclear. We don't know who or where or how long. That is the bit that gives me the most worry. The CE mark I suspect will be interesting and I'm less concerned about. John Bell has already implied that self use might just get the go ahead regardless in certain settings or the professional use will just be very very loose.
