Urgent request: Call for food processers or manufacturers



Is your business in food processing or manufacturing?
Are you interested in getting Covid testing for you and your workers?


FSB is working with Government on what options there are to help members who want to test their staff to prevent outbreaks in their workforce. There is some specific work ongoing in the food processing and manufacturing sectors and we want to make sure small businesses are included in the discussion. Would you be interested in being involved? This would start with an initial roundtable on Wednesday 16 December seeking to explain the programme and what businesses need, and then there would be an opportunity for businesses to be involved in a pilot testing study.

We can't promise that businesses would definitely get onto the pilot as this would be a government decision but if your business is in food processing or manufacturing and you would be interested in testing please get in touch with david.hale@fsb.org.uk with the subject header COVID TESTING.

It is a mess. FB is full of people clearly going to ignore the cancellation of Christmas. They need some more LFT - I wish they would knock out an 80% sensitive one... take 2 or three the week before getting together.... it would take care of a lot of the spread.

Al has learnt his lesson - no RNS now until he doesn’t have to waffle and he can be clear and concise.

I'm sure the first group was always going to feel like guinea pigs.... but this isn't going to go smoothly.

Asymptomatic spreaders are a real problem. My kids teacher’s son tested positive and she went off work but not after having given in to eight five year olds- but she didn’t have any symptoms and worked via zoom all though isolation. Most the kids who got it were young for the year so had more one on one contact with the teacher. And these little kids didn’t have the normal symptoms - fevers and tummy aches and a bit of congestion. And it didn’t seem to spread between the little kids... they all came down with it about the same time and my kid didn’t get despite the close contact friends. LFTs will be critical for weekly or bi-weekly testing of teaching staff. Otherwise it will be 10-14 day isolation every time this happens

Agreed and I had filtered many but they post new threads so you still get all the replies. Does reporting actually work for posts like this? Of course it is strong speculation which most of what is on these boards positive and negative.

On a Saturday morning I am utterly exhausted with the additional stresses that this new life we all find ourselves living has brought. I think of the bigger picture and all the mental issues, the deaths of loved ones and how everyone I know is struggling in one way or another.... many were at their limit before covid.

Then I come on here to the typical incessant AW comment and I think this: anyone with time on their hands to constantly post negative messages about a company and how investors have been played and are doomed... that doesn’t sound altruistic to me. No that stinks of vulturistic tendencies- looking to find a weakness to make a killing with a short. Whether Avacta comes through or not is not the game at all for these posters. It is the manipulation of doubt to further their chosen position. These boards are full of them. They would sooner run you over than give you a lift. No better than a Nottingham Knocker checking out naive grannies and whether they have cash in the house. I don’t give a rat’s backside where the share price is on no news. It is being driven by normal AIM market volatility- but we have not had bad news. We have had no news and being in the dark isn’t fun when it is such a difficult time for so many. We are all lucky to have cash to invest in the first place just don’t overstretch yourself and you will be fine. And give your granny a call today.... just to see how they are.

Honestly Doh - I’m not sure anyone is going to really be taken in by this lot... at this point you are either in or out. If you have come this far you are happy to see it out. Don’t you think? If you haven’t been shaken out by now... I personally think that is why we will stay between 107 and 115 until news.

I somewhat agree with Livedata - it definitely a bi-product of the perceived delay. The opportunity for derampimg has been created by the CEOs lack of transparency over timescales and phases of bringing the product to market. The severity of the swings are however down to multiple factors. I think it is naive to think that MMs won’t move the price around to increase churn. Churn is their bread and butter and must contribute to bonus pots. Equally those that are trying to influence the market to produce the swings or move in the profitable direction of their spread-bet etc also must have a hand it moving the market further than it would have otherwise. That is what I think we see on here and Twitter... who else would spread their days deramping a share they aren’t invested in unless it is a spread bet on SP going down. Can also see a few trying to talk up another share hoping for a few rainbow chasers etc.

Energy ... it is Fun Friday tomorrow - I like the idea of songs...every time a deramper posts a new thread instead of replying post one line of a song as a new thread subject and actual holders guess the name of the song, thereby pushing the derampers down the board.

Don’t use this board to vent frustrations about lack of RNS. And to the posters coming here uninvested... you are at your most obvious. Just have a break from the board. As per redreversion either shut up and sell or zip it. Don’t respond to scum on here.
