I didn’t buy BRH on the first round Pre dividend but remember others on this board hiding out over there last year one evening so took a punt and did buy BRH after divi at around 20p - I pulled my capital (just 3k) out at 42p and sold a bit at 88, 108 and 115. I still have 3k shares - it is heavily ramped and my gut feeling is that it will tank... but who knows! But thanks for the tip ! Trevor Brown is really a total a-hold. He ranked the RMS share price to declare the dividend right?

Lol - I keep a spreadsheet of all my shares across all the family’s accounts .I found another 1300 shares I didn’t realise I had in a trading account - at 137p - felt like finding a wad of cash under the mattress!

It is a possibility but I think the gov would probably meet somewhere in the middle. I also think businesses will also be required to contribute to testing. I think these businesses will certainly seek profits elsewhere so the government will be forced to buy at a price above cost. I suppose this could very well be an element of an NDA

That’s my point it’s such a small dataset that it’s difficult to determine the standard deviations. You could also consider error rates due to swab technique and potentially PCR errors (contamination etc) . It is possible that the S and S remain roughly the same with a bigger dataset. In fact I’m sure that avacta wouldn’t release these figures if they were expected to change significantly.

So you get more confidence the more volume you have... for example if the one missed was 1 out of 10 - the sensitivity would be 90. If there we’re only 2 missed out of 100 then it would be 98. Equally it could go down. I guess getting a decent no of positives in a population is critical to getting accurate s&s - if you only have x number of tests to trial.

At a 175p close this makes up 30% of my family’s portfolio across all pensions and isa’s - a huge deal. We recklessly bought a bottle of Cristal at Xmas - but didn’t open - instead we said we could pop the cork out when Avct hit £2 again. Not there yet!

Personally I think there has been a nod here from AS - setting expectations for the end of February and delivering a great RNS mid February. Hopefully Avct over deliver like this from now on! Great day for geniuine holders!

I'm actually victor meldrew towards posters trying to rain on a parade. Holder's here have had a rough ride (as they have elsewhere) and I think it was a little petty to pick on the word 'derisked' and try to imply that holders here felt there was no risk. As pointed out - not risk means no or very little money to be made.

Star - de-risked does not mean no risk the same way dehumanised doesn't mean what is being described is not actually human. You can't possibly argue that this share carries the same risk as last week. If you do, then I don't think the market agrees with you... sorry.

Can we get a commitment for when the SP hits £5????

So sorry to hear about your friend. it is a reminder there is so much more to life than money. Covid has played a huge toll on so many - even those without many troubles. I just hope Avacta help us get back to normality and give the country and world some relief.

So I’m heavily invested in AVCT (more so than I would like however risk feels much lowered now£ and I personally don’t put all my eggs in one basket - invested also in NCYT ODX SNG. I have made a fair bit in NCYT and SNG. I posted on the NCYT BB the other day - only to point out that LFTs won’t replace PCR - they compliment them. There will obviously be some swings between shares spending on press that week but I think it is foolish to think any one test will solve our problems. They all have their benefits and drawbacks - I pointed out that the government could certainly use the CT more effectively (not NCYT’s fault) and QD was very quick to attempt to ramp PCR and dismiss LFTs / arguing that LFTs will miss early infections. I don’t think anyone would argue that early infections could be missed - if you don’t test enough (repeatedly) or get a quick enough turnaround then the likelihood of spread will increase. Anyway despite trying to highlight it isn’t a binary choice for testing (or investing) and won’t be the end of PCR, QD is clearly very nervous. There some shifty bums over there so we might see a few more sooner than later. It is sad/funny that these people who talk about horse blinders stick all their eggs in a single basket - a basket that might be a good basket but might also be woven a bit loose as time progresses as science develops. Seems a bit head in the sand to me...

Thickdraw... you do realise that funds have limits as to the % they can hold? So your ‘playing’ the price movements description can also be described as:
1. I see potential in company x so my fund buys into it
2. potential becomes more apparent to market and others buy
3. Price rises (see point 2) by say a HUGE ant
4. Oops it has become too high as % of my fund.
5. I have to sell some, but NOT ALL.

With regards to drips .. get a tissue. No one here is deramping NYCT. No one sent CS over to NYCT - he was a creep. Perhaps think twice before you go down his path... he was last seen howling at the moon on Twitter
