SuffolkJim, short answer is no. Unless it was a placing some way above current market price. Otherwise, if more shares came into circulation and nothing else to affect overall market capitalisation, then you'd actually expect a reduction in share price. Quite apart from that, there'd have to be a market announcement.

Agreed that's a strong appointment. The fundamentals of the business look shot to bits though and I can't see any upturn likely in a reasonable timescale. This remains a trading opportunity rather than an investment proposition.

Zccax77 The fundamentals of this stock are far from an attractive investment proposition. I'm thinking the majority shareholders are surely tempted to attempt a "wash, rinse and repeat". Minority shareholders be damned. I sold out as a stockholder some time ago, having lost faith in management capability, but the

stock does offer some trading opportunity, which I tend to make use of by way of spreadbets.

I mentioned a couple of weeks back the possibility of CABP being taken private again. With results due soon, what do folks think about the likelihood of results announcement being coupled with an announcement they are being taken private once more?

That's an oddly worded RNS about the departure of the CFO. I definitely got out of this, as a shareholder, at the right time, but it is nevertheless an interesting trading/betting opportunity. Would not be surprised at the emergence of a suitor later this year, or possibly a move to take it private again.

Charting is all well and good if you are looking to trade larger cap stocks where there's plenty of liquidity. If you try to apply those methods to lesser cap companies, where the free float can be comparatively small and stock fairly tightly held, you can at best get misled and at worst badly burnt. Stick to investment fundamentals and diligent research, accept that short term price movements up or down are perfectly normal market events, recognise that time in the market is more important than market timing and have the confidence of your convictions. In short, act like Cevodniya!

Acquis is, after it's simplest, just an alternative trading venue. Not really of that much relevance to the "average Joe" private investor.

With the share price hovering around 60p and a distinct lack of positive newsflow, what's the betting on some surprise being forthcoming with the full year results? Although I remain very sceptical about this company's longer term prospects, particularly as management seems to be "painting by numbers" in its' approach, I'm thinking we might well see a short-lived jump on any sort of positive news. Should we see some slightly less bad (I can't see them being good) results, coupled with the ever elusive US license finally making an appearance, I can see a fairly quick 20p-ish gain which is enough to tempt me, not as a shareholder, as a limited spread bet on the upside (with a conservative stoploss in place).

Looks like volumes and margins continue to fall. Reducing staff overheads seems to be a knee jerk reaction and could prove to be extremely shortsighted as it means the business could struggle to service any future upturn. Use of AI is questionable, given company's poor record with its' IT capabilities and staff retention.

Well I said not to expect fantastic news, but that wasn't difficult to predict. Don't expect that US license anytime soon, if ever, either. At this company the directors should not be called the Board, but the Planks; as in "thick as two planks."

I don't want play "guess the price", but I do think holders shouldn't expect fantastic news. The company has a history of disappointment and excuses.

Seems to be a fair bit of selling going on in dribs and drabs, plus the odd chunkier trade. Folks thinking (knowing?) US license is dead in the water? Brace yourselves for an "interesting" January!

Was all private investors. They were also a bit unhappy about talk of leakage. Take that anyway you like, I'm just the conduit.

Tigerdeabo. This is a dead duck, bleak outlook and poor management; certainly not investment grade. I'm happy to confirm I'm no longer holding stock, as there are much better opportunities elsewhere. I do however have an interest by way of spreadbets, as it's interesting from a shorter term trading perspective.

This is now a very lame, if not quite dead, duck on investment grounds. It does offer some speculative action as a trading bet. I'd previously thought we might have seen a bounce back to around 110 by now, but instead I can see 50p by end Jan.
