The pre-close statement set the scene to get all the bad news out. Numbers this time were never going to be great. Price-wise, short movements will depend on nervy private investors running in fear, but I can't see many institutions selling out. Longer term I'm still comfortable we can see 170p by year end, 200p in first half 2025. I'll certainly not be rushing to sell as I think this is a reasonable long term investment. As I keep saying though, better and more regular communication would be useful. Be interesting if there's anything extra in the corporate presentation.

Why any concerns about prices in results tomorrow if you are invested for the long term? This is always going to be a fairly volatile stock as is has "peculiarities" (small free float, large fall since IPO, abysmal communication, political exposures etc), but if you believe there's value to be had over time and don't mind the rollercoaster ride then a single day's movement is relatively insignificant.

Boldicus, "soft" news in the market. Gossip amongst market professionals if you like, not quite insider information as such but non-attributable (I.e. you can't pin it on anyone) and generally fairly reliable advance knowledge.

Jerseycrew, no new news but spreadbet firms are not allowing the opening of any new positions. Wonder if there's any "soft" news around the market?

For all those of you anticipating a huge price jump next week (I think this stock is a good long term prospect and I don't get excited about short term price fluctations), are you all taking spread bet positions to benefit?

Equally, why would it not be delayed at this point? US regulators do funny things. I actually don't think we'll hear of a delay, I was playing devil's advocate in response to Jumbo007. We don't ever hear much at all from this company, close period now of course but generally communication is abysmal.

No, I'm not missing the point Gingerhippo. Jumbo keeps saying he can't buy, I'm saying he can but if he wants stock badly he might need to offer more money. If stock demand is higher, e.g. Jumbo buys 20,000 at 115p say, then marketmakers will price accordingly and you'll see price move higher. The simple fact price isn't moving up that much suggests there's no sustained buying at present. Poor communication from the company does not held the stock price (compare with a miniscule concern like, say, BMV to see how investor relations can be handled far better).

There's always stock to buy, that's what marketmakers are for! The issue is not whether you can buy stock, but whether you can get it at the price you are prepared to pay.

Try buying in blocks of 7,500; that's normal market size for this stock and marketmakers are obliged to quote. If you are very positive on stock, you could also try offering slightly above quoted buy price. If you still have issues then it's your broker/trading platform and you might want to switch to another instead.

A couple of recent posts suggesting they've had trouble buying, don't forget you can always get a quote for normal market size (7,500 for CABP) as that's ghe marketmakers obligation. Alternatively, offer above market price if you really want stock.

@JPMustang You are quite right about small volume having a silly effect on the share price. Good example of the disassociation between price and value. The old adage remains true, price is what you pay and value is what you get.

Folks taking profits, then seeing price still rising and thinking they sold too soon so buying back in, possibly also adding a bit more, pushing prices up in a mini frenzy. On top of that though, bad news was pushed out ahead of results that will no doubt be not quite as bad as expected and I would not be surprised to see US license announcement alongside results. I said in past post 170p-200p by year end, but expect something of a rollercoaster ride.

"Growth" and "Value" labels, along with what they are "supposed" to mean can be grossly misleading. More important is are you going to see a fair return on your money. Now that depends on your take on risk, fair, reasonable, timescale and other factors, all of which different folk will have different takes on. However, for me, with the sum committed and my modest expectations, I'm happy to at least treble my money over five years, which I think this stock will do. I certainly wouldn't put my whole portfolio into one stock though.

Re-reading the latest release does suggest the actual results announcement might indicate better figures than have just been put out and I would not be surprised to hear further news on US license progress on 4th September. It is likely this is no more than a short term hiatus (classic get all the back news out in one go) and as such an opportunity. I still view 170p year end, assuming US license progress is solid, as reasonable, but I'm not really interested in that timescale, the 5 year potential is where I'm looking.

If you are prepared to be in for the long haul (5 years plus) then you will see handsome results, but if you are more of a short term speculator then I hope you have a strong stomach and enjoy rollercoaster rides.

Those optimistic of a quick(ish) recovery to IPO price are living in cloud cuckoo land. However, take a bad scenario like earnings down 25% and US license delayed until 2025 and you could still see 170p by year end (I'd previously pencilled in 200p conservatively). Part of the problem is the appalling lack of communication by this company, many other would have commented on such a sharp decline in a relatively small space of time. I do think that, apart from trickle selling from smaller private holders getting frightened, there has been profit taking by shorter term speculators frustrated by the lack of more substantial near term price progress. As a longer term investor, I've picked up 15000 at a bit over 101 today.
