GE sticking to their 'powering Africa' strategy https://www.businessincameroon.com/electricity/0703-8918-cameroon-general-electric-to-supply-nachtigal-dam-with-turbines tick tock
A1m is no fool. He knows, as we all do, that time is money. In order to dominate this bb, a1m has spent several hours per day reading and replying to comments. All while being uninvested. Why would someone who so clearly values the generation and preservation of their own wealth, waste so much of their time (money) for no gain? It seems terribly obvious to me that the time he is expending on this bb, talking down this share must in and of itself be providing value. If ever there was a green light to load up, a1m's hard work is it! The more he types, the the bigger the prize. Some reasons why someone or a group of people working in concert would want to suppress a share price 1) so that the concert party can pick up cheaper shares ahead of an expected spike 2) because they are shorting the stock. Given historic sp, I don't think it's 2. Finally, just to drive in a final nail, does a1m's content strike anyone as the words of a genuine and nice person hoping to save others from misery? Nah. A1m, have to tip my hat to you for your effort. Buddy Jez backing you up too. Great teamwork. A fabulous performance. Lol. Ever wonder if there might be more to life than your current job? Something a bit more fulfilling? I'll let you carry on ;)
Thing is Naz, I think most people would totally agree with your overarching stance against fossil fuels and the urgent need to shift to green alternatives. I don't believe fracking is a good idea. A process that creates earthquakes no matter how small is asking for trouble. I've paid extra for 100% green energy for years because I can afford it and because I'm taking personal responsibility. I also now cycle to work instead of driving. But, the practicalities involved in transitioning a complex industrialised economy from mostly fossil fuels to 100% renewable is not straight forward or quick. You must realise that? We need a smart managed transition to fulfil our Paris commitments. If you were in charge, would you shut all the carbon burning power stations down overnight? The factories would stop working, people would be out of jobs on the million, investment would cease as all remaining energy sources were ploughed into keeping critical services like hospitals going. We'd have to have rationed energy like they do in parts of Africa. plus one cold snap over winter or a lull in wind or sun and a lot of vulnerable and isolated people would die of exposure. What would you say to their families? Surely, the reasonable thing to do is exactly what is happening: ramp up most cost effective and efficient green alternatives asap (I see UK gov just invested another huge amount in offshore wind today), which takes time to iterate and improve, shield simultaneously ramping down on the dirtiest fuels like coal and oil. Gas is the cleanest and cheapest of the fossil fuels. Can't you see that Islandmagee and gas generally is enabling this transition?
I agree it is good news, but not for the reasons you suggest. It means it's 'mission complete' for him. He's obviously quite old school and doesn't want to be dead wood/hang around to pick up a pay check, burdening a company he's just turned around. We always knew he was a 'contractor' type Chairman who is often parachuted into companies to perform specific critical missions. He has a long list of historic and current advisory and/or board level positions across many companies. His job is done. INFA buy-in/top up opportunity...
These guys have always played with straight bat, so I'm taking this at face value. Thank you Mr Lyons for your role in turning INFA around!!
Hi Riddler, do you mean by overplaying loss of 2248 while knowing Shell is the real story?
Sorry Tony! Should've picked up on the sarcasm. [Shakes head]
Sad times. Can't argue with that. Brace for Smug Tsunami. Do we think this 'confirmation' is priced in? Why do I sense, 'not'?
Gazprom increasing its influence in critical UK infrastructure is not a dream I share!!!
Which would mean the equity partners would be happy to crack on, knowing there's a fall back option. Makes sense.
Maybe this is why JW was so interested in processing and selling the salt a little while back...
Of the 100+ Marie licences applied for since 2012, just 2 state "Licence Application Not Granted". Bodes well. Furthermore I noticed some other noteworthy applications:
Construction Moyle Interconnector Ltd. Installation of two conductor cables within the NI inshore region Moyle Interconnector, Portmuck South, Islandmagee, Co. Antrim (ISSUED)
Gaelectric Energy Storage (GEAS) Intake/Outlet pipe* Islandmagee, Co. Antrim (ONGOING)
White Young Green Consultants Long Sea Outfall Pipe* Ballyferris (ISSUED)
* A marine outfall is a pipeline or tunnel that discharges municipal or industrial wastewater, stormwater, combined sewer overflows, cooling water, or brine effluents from water desalination plants to the sea.
There's no need to be rude, Dick. Btw, i have read it. I think what I've suggested is entirely reasonable and evidence-based. It's as credible as any other theory right now, given none of us are inside, right Dick?
If relinquished, then their website is inaccurate, misleading and that's probably illegal. Knowing relinquish date was 28th February very easy to adjust website accordingly. The fact they have updated part of their website but not removed me think of 2248 is a positive sign to me. It suggests it's not been relinquished and news to come through soon. O&G website also hasn't been updated and they're usually pretty quick on these things.
Still to be found under assets https://www.cluffnaturalresources.com/assets/where-we-operate/south-north-sea/p2248/ but yes no longer being promoted on homepage as you say. Two thoughts: 1) they've removed as relinquished licence, but the. Why not the URL above too or 2) they're adjusting the copy and waiting to republish after some 'news' has been released. I prefer the sound of option 2!
Agreed. In the US a v favourable mining environment from regulatory perspective and also in Nevada like MB so cost savings there. Possehl bankrolling and more to come.
Really sure what you mean re the charts, but I do live in hope. Come on Chapman and Scales. Bring home the bacon.
Topped up at 19.5 to bring average down. Not
Well the excitement that idea's generated has blown my socks off. Really has. Lol. Anyone with mining/engineering knowledge - could you put me out of my misery and tell me why this wouldn't work :)
Fit/Min, thanks. Fascinating link. I always remember visiting an old Roman lead works on the Mendips with my grandparents when I was a kid. You could still find little bits on the ground here and there where they'd been melting into ingots. Maybe there's Fluorspar there too... Do Lead and Fluorspar go hand in hand in terms of the ore or are there other mineral combinations? Ok I am not an engineer and I know next to nothing about mining. (Setting expectations there). Some further questions: My understanding is that 10% of the ore contains Fluorspar at grades of approx 97%. Ergo, lots of waste. I believe it's technically possible to have the TSF in a concession area and then move it as necessary when you've extracted one area, but we're prohibited from doing this by the sheer amount of waste, so I was wondering if it would be possible to rethink the 'waste' (the reverse of your comment about the old lead miners, Mineralex). If we also extracted/produced Lead , Silicate, Zinc etc for market, we could sell it, even at breakeven, and reduce our waste which might then open up the possibility of bringing the TSF into the concession area, over which there are zero legal issues.
