I check this board out once or twice a week Fossiebeer, so, as one of the original “Stalwarts”, I am one who never misses your excellent posts. So please continue. Still holding a substantial number of shares, and still with faith that the dismal share price WILL begin to recover SOONish. At my advanced age, it just HAS to!

Thanks for that reminder, Fossiebeer, following on to our mutual optimism last month. I doubt any others will offer anything more positive than what you've produced on the back of a fag packet. What target does fastjet have to reach now for you to stop smoking?!!

FASTJET Zimbabwe yesterday introduced a second daily flight service from Victoria Falls to South Africa’s OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

Thank you ksv21 and good to see you on the forum. I'm still patiently waiting for the news which was promised for mid-March – long ago already. The Pandemic set us back again unfortunately but reports suggest that people are now rushing in to booking holidays after the frustrations of being stuck in the UK. I'm not quite so naive as to think that that means crowds of Africans are snapping up tickets for fastjet's bargain ticket prices.
But my post a little while ago reported my discovery that flights were selling out with warnings that "only one (or two) tickets left" [on this flight] a day or two before departure. So like travellers all over the world, they are just as keen to have a vacation and visit fa,ily and friends after the two year ban.

Well since posting that earlier, the site once again shows its frequently inaccurate tendencies! There are no flights to MQP until Monday 11 April when just three ValueFlyer seats are available at $255.00 inclusive. FlexiFlyer are at $405 each.

Great to read some positive news at last today as the new flight from Victoria Falls begins. It's been a lomg time.

Yes, please do (keep this thread updated), Fossiebeer, whether there's good, bad or no news. Someone has to keep it going, ready for when we take off again. I echo again your final sentiment today with the new route in a fortnight.

It appears that fossiebeer MAY share my sentiment.
8½ years ago, the enthusiasm of several early investors was so high that we were christened "The Stalwarts". Sadly, they have all died off, judging by their total absence from this forum for a couple of years or more, leaving just me holding the fort! Or flag perhaps.
Anyway, I remain optimistic that we may be given some news towards the end of March when a new route is added to the service, together with a fourth aircraft, though the reason for that otherwise encouraging expansion to our modest fleet is unclear.

If it ain't one thing it's another.
A FASTJET plane was Wednesday morning forced to make a u-turn to Harare after failing to land at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo due to power cuts.
There was no backup generator available at the airport for the plane to make a safe landing forcing it to return back to Harare.
Wouldn't you think every airport would be equipped with an emergency generator?
At least the company can't be blamed for this.

I'm sure that's a sensible and logical conclusion, Fossiebeer. Your analysis, and indeed, knowledge, is deeper than mine! Maybe we haven't been supplied with all the information detail? Why don't you write or email Mark Hurst or Rashid Wally?!

It then seemed such a long way off. However, according to www.chronicle.co.zw this morning at 11:01am, their headline reads “NWE: Fastjet [sic] adds another aircraft to Zimbabwe”
Their Senior Business Reporter goes on to write “Low-cost airline, Fastjet Zimbabwe, has added another Embraer ERJ145 aircraft into commercial service in the country.
“The latest 50-seater aircraft was introduced on Wednesday afternoon.
“Fastjet tweeted ‘The latest addition to the fleet has this afternoon entered service flying to Bulawayo.’”
In my book, there is no room for ambiguity in that statement. But, as they say “don’t believe everything you read in the papers”! Checking fastjet’s booking site, clicking any date up to and including Tue 15 March displays “There are no flights on the selected date”. But click in the next available tab and you’ll see under Fri 18 March, “Sold Out”! Ditto for the return flight on Mon 21 Mar.
So I’m afraid it’s back to Square One after all.

Hi Jjjerseygirl – welcome to the fastjet forum. See my post dated 11 Sep 2021 when I commented upon how healthy fastjet's business was looking then with seats going like hot cakes. "Only two seats left..." etc.

Well, just in case there is, I wish you a very Happy and Safe New Year, but on this occasion, I'll add no more speculation about fastjet's future! But shall wait until the introduction of flights from Victoria Falls to Nelspruit’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) scheduled to begin on 16 March 2022.
Hopefully by then, we may also have seen the back of the Covid-19 pandemic and the new, more serious variant, Omicron, although that seems far less likely as we enter a new year.

So may I re-post what i wrote then, headed "To any "Stalwarts" still around" – (you know who you are!) – just with the dates updated:
"Greetings to any of the original band of "Stalwarts" still around, languishing with losses on their investment of up to 99%! It would be an ultra optimist to anticipate any significant turnaround next year but as things can't possibly get any worse, they can only get better! So here's to the end of the present threat in Africa early in 2021 and the sight of the SP slowly rising as passengers return. Meanwhile, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy - even prosperous - New Year."

Thanks, fatherelmer. So if I can trade, but only want to see what was the share price's value, how do I locate that?

I gave up checking daily ages ago but every time I have looked in recently, all I seem to see most times is "only 1/2/3 Seats left!" So if that's the case, why is the Share Price listed at absolute zero – not even the 0.03p it languished at for so long?
