Thanks for keeping this moribund board going, Fjetcrazy, with your regular posts and news updates. Much appreciated, as ever, by

Merry Christmas to all my fellow investors – especially those from way back to the Winter days! – and dare I add, a Happy New Year with all we wish for ourselves?

I'm delighted and somewhat amazed to find a new edition of "Places" magazine, the last incarnation of fastjet's on-board magazine for passengers, replacing TravelSmart. Dated October\December 2018, it runs to the usual 48 pages with a healthy percentage of advertising too.

So it ain't all over yet! Though the black background chosen for the front cover might just be the agency's subconscious, unintentional choice of doom.
No. See my replies at 18:51 on Sunday and Tue 4 Dec. Why are you so obsessed with this?
“what name did you post under over there then ?”
Investorphobe.

I can tell you myself! I used to post regularly on the Interactive Investor board but not with this username, and not for six months since it became a very intimidating and unfriendly place to be.
I began using this one as soon as I discovered it with its (then) very welcoming and knowledgeable group of users.
I'm not sure what you mean by having "[my] own board on a board" [forum]? But either way, despite your typo (I am "marksman" not "marksaman"!) if someone is posting there under a similar name, it's not me.
fastjet is winner of the WTA's “Africa’s Leading Low-cost Airline" Award, for the third year running. So we must be doing something right. Good timing at this percarious stage of our development IMO. Hope the BoD have noticed.

I’m always around, checking in every time I log on!
I am really amazed that fastjet don’t already charge for food. After all, their big sister easyJet has always done so, supplying just nuts or pretzels for free, plus a menu with a variety of paid-for offerings, so you’d’ve thought fj would’ve followed suit. Anyway, good to hear abundant complaints have had the desired effect.
Even better to hear the FO’s opinion about the company’s prospects. That’s helped to tip the balance in my decision to buy yet more in the upcoming placing offer - as if I needed any more. But such a huge discount could be too good to miss, though I know I shall come in for the usual brickbats. Maybe my obsessive optimism might pay off at long last.
"No inflight magazine on board on both sectors, very disappointed."
No doubt a small part of the economising drive, Fjetcrazy. "Travelsmart" was last published on 1 January 2017 and was retitled "Places". But I don't think it ever appeared beyond the second if not even the first issue.
As for the food: was it really so 'inedible' any more than other airlines' offerings which almost everybody complains about? Did you not complain about it to one of the stewards? You should've said "I'm a big investor with this company...." who knows what the crew might've come up with just for you!!

Just ignore him; he loves to make an appearance from time-to-time at what he sees as an opportune moment to denigrate the company and mock investors once more. I sometimes have to confess to feeling some empathy for his opinions but as regulars will know, I am a long-term holder and, even, fan!! So I shall still wait for a turnaround or total collapse. Either remain plausible possibilities, IMHO.
I’m sure you’re right Fjetcrazy; don’t know why I even interjected really! So, do you know how much the increase is since last week? And what’s the cost of the competition? Thanks.
No! There is no evidence AFAIK that fastjet are raising the fares to cover the cost of a snack and free check-in of first checked bag, as Wolfgang’s correspondent, Saidy Abdallah, claims and that you are suggesting. What a stupid and transparent move that would be.
Hi Farruggia:
Keeping fine thank you, apart from...well, not the place here!! Regrettably, in hindsight, I don’t think I invested in the tip you gave me last year, the name of which I now forget, possibly because I was already quite well down with your earlier one: IQE. And now already well over three grand down!! But I’ll stick with them and “keep the faith”, just like I did with fastjet – someone else’s tip way back in 2013!!
Best wishes to you, too.
Ah well, maybe I’ll make the effort to listen to it, then! I met Nico briefly at last week’s AGM, mainly to apologise for missing almost all of its brief 15 minutes duration thanks to a train delay. He did tell me that the gist of the meeting was to assure investors that “all is carrying on much as it always has, for the foreseeable future.”
Fjetcrazy:
Thanks us usual for all of your recent research and contributions.
To me, while we’ve read most of what FurtherAfrica covers in its article, in the latest RNSs and much other media coverage just based on press releases (and I note their footnote credit to CH-Aviation as their source), FurtherAfrica’s own article takes some beating for its clarity and comprehension with its own succinct take on fastjet’s latest plans for its recent funding.
I daresay Nico does the same and more in your other post but I’m not sure I can sit through 21 minutes of that interview!
nuri123a
Of course I appreciate it, nuri123a. I may not be your greatest fan but I appreciate an honest comment or opinion. Thank you for it. Oh, and I’m a fella, btw! ARE there any women on this board? I have yet to see any evidence of one, though there is no reason why they should be, or wish to be, so identified!
I must be stating the bl**ding obvious Fjetcrazy, but they must surely have based this decision on considerable research and latest passenger statistics? After all, that one reduction is hugely balanced by the increased frequencies to Joburg and Mwanza, isnt it? Only IMHO of course. Best regards as ever.
That`s very good to hear, Fjetcrazy. They must`ve read my weekend post below!!
So sad to see the bad old days of Winter returning, eh? What happened to Nicos promising reassurances of running an airline properly? Is fastjet just impossible for management to get to grips with, even after more than five years?
