Wished you'd posted that before Fjetcrazy; I wouldn't have spent 10 minutes sending them another snotty complaint this morning after yesterday's exchange!! Anyway, it'll be interesting to see the changes,
You’re whistling in the wind, I'm afraid, hammy374. I’ve had zilch response from fastjet to my posts drawing attention to the way out-of-date Updates panels on our Home Page. Looks so amateurish. I had higher hopes that, after speaking with Nico himself at this year’s AGM, we might see an improvement, but I’m still waiting.
Payment to easyGroup Holdings for the acquisition of all intellectual property rights associated with the fastjet brand has finally been confirmed. [RNS]. Another leap forward.
Despite what I wrote yesterday, about it proving to be a popular option, I did have the same thought, taskmaster, especially the "in Africa" angle. Let's just hope we've now reached that " time to run".
OK, if you want to be pedantic - like me! EasyJet's equivalent is branded as "Speedy Boarding".
I think that'll prove to be a very popular option, at least for as long they keep the premium at just $5. I always choose it whenever I fly with it's 'sister' company, with whom it costs a good bit more!
Make of this “fastjet / fastnews” development on Wolfgang’s blog what you will! https://wolfganghthome.wordpress.com Specifically there is a lengthy ‘boast’ from our spokesman Hein Kaiser on fastjet becoming the “airline brand with largest Facebook following in Africa” here: https://wolfganghthome.wordpress.com/2017/08/23/fastjet-fastnews/ I’m taking it as an early, positive sign of the company’s laudable intention to keep its existing and potential passengers in the loop and their questions and enquiries dealt with far more promptly. And in the process, maybe us too!
I daresay that will reappear soon in another release. But meanwhile, if you feel so inclined Fjetcrazy, perhaps you could copy and paste in the text as it's all blurred out to we non-subscribers! Thanks.
You have no need to apologise Ronwin, IMO. In Board terms, of course JT16’s a ‘newbie’ having posted just once before the one to which you referred. If you want to “share his history”, you’ll get a good indication from his very first post which showed a virulently anti-fastjet attitude along with a reference to another, unidentified poster as “smug”!
Hi Farruggia1967: I thought I'd better post this on the appropriate LSE Board, certain I'd find you there! But no. Though I see that another fastjetter is! Just wanted to let you know I added another 150% to my position there, benefiting from an unexpected slight dip this morning.
54p! Wow! That's the sort of tip to have!
My post at 10:41am yesterday should've begun "Even-longer-term investors (probably?) here CANNOT offer more than a purely speculative prediction about the company’s short-term future.....
Welcome to the LSE forum, Jasbir. Even-longer-term investors (probably?) here can offer more than a purely speculative prediction about the company’s short-term future. Some of us have been doing so regularly for a couple of years or more! To little avail. However, my personal view is that the share price has been languishing here at virtually its lowest-ever for several weeks so it can surely “only go up’?! More significantly, after a long period of pretty disastrous [mis-]management, this month marks the first year anniversary of the arrival of our new CEO, Nico Bezuidenhout, as you must know. He had 10 years experience with a similar low-cost airline in Africa and, already, there are visible signs of his and his team’s plans coming to fruition, even if it is not yet reflected in the SP. Ruthless trimming and wiser organisation overall should begin to show results anytime soon and certainly before this year is out, IMHO. I hope others will post their opinions as they may well differ from mine.
Farruggia1967: Well you seem to be proving to be right with Saturday’s tip. My initial research suggests that you’ve already more than doubled your investment, so congrats. I feel I’ve already missed the boat after more rises both yesterday and this morning but I guess they just confirm your forecast. So I’ve just taken up your tip and made an investment, modestly in keeping with funds presently available. I shall double that when a transfer of more is in place, later today I hope. Thanks again.

At the foot of this latest press release from Bulawayo 24 News, is a reference to fastjet’s recent celebrations quoting several statistics, ending with “an impressive 94 percent on-time performance...” I have no record of that particular percentage but in any case, our relevant home page panel is still lazily showing the 91% of last June. So I”m just wondering where that journal got its info from, or if it’s got the latest stat direct from fastjet or its agency.
It works for me, using Safari on a Mac. Shows the complete Aug/Sep issue. And there is an "Enlarge to full screen" button beneath if you wish to read the test. But tbh, I think I had to alter the image size using a keyboard combo (Cmmd+plus sign. Agree it doesn't seem quite as straightforward as it used to be.
PJMInvest: You may like to contact the company’s agency direct which is/was behind the website’s design, as I did back in January to “Matt”, beginning “I don't know how involved you are with the regular updating of the fastjet website beyond its initial design? But it is dispiriting to see it so out of date much of the time.....” Their website is https://www.bozboz.co.uk at which you can find all further contact info, including these two direct email addresses: ask@bozboz.co.uk matt@bozboz.co.uk Marksman
Sadly, gnashers far from being in good order but too O/T to elaborate on! So glad you’re doing so well with another share. Thanks for the tip. Apart from my latest chunk thrown again at fastjet, mainly with the aim of reducing my break-even point (which I’ve dropped by a respectable 22%), I’ve not invested anywhere else after selling so many others to, again, feed my obsession with this company. I know, I know!! Since it’s the weekend, and so unusually for me!!, I’ll write at greater length! Prompted by your thoughtful offer. I had a similar suggestion made to me back in early 2013 on the (then) British Airways II forum by one I R Baboon (whatever happened to him?) He posted (from memory) “If you’re interested in airlines, you might like to check out fastjet.....” which I’d never heard of. I fell for the whole concept of an easyJet-type start-up in Africa with innocent confidence. And even backed by Sir Stelios himself. The rest, ATS, is history! (And I lay no blame at I R B’s door, btw.) Needless to say, I’m not making comparisons with your recommendation which I’ll give serious consideration to on Monday morning – if I haven’t missed the boat already? Have a good weekend.
Farruggia1967: Another typo too!! Unless you meant to be “defiant”? Yup, “definitely”!
