Interpretation of the CTC's, cell antigenicity, and sequencing of RNA and DNA etc etc requires very skilled cyto- and histo-pathologists and geneticists. These guys will only exist within major cancer centres, and it is my guess that there may not be many machines needed to do the cell separation, ? 1 or 2 per cancer centre, where they will be run full time. So the volume of cassettes needed will be great, but the volume of machines to do the separation will be relatively small. So I am relaxed about the relatively small number of machines out there. Am I wrong?

it is bizarre that the price is not higher, although at present it may to some extent reflect general market weakness. However I think a bigger problem may be the market not understanding this company and it's game changing potential - which is repeatedly demonstrated in trial after trial. I am in here up to my eyeballs and remain confident. FDA approval will change everything.

I thought that AGL were planning a submission in Q3 2018 after the results of another trial ? breast at the Anderson Institute so that they can submit an application covering more than one cancer. As I understand it it is the case that the AGL technique for isolating CTC's has to be approved for each malignancy separately. Seems daft. Re Jelenko's comment, this is a new study and I don't recall this work having been done before in precisely this way. The abstract would not have been accepted if it was just a rehash of old data or work already in the public domain.

BumbleB PHE are making 99.99% pure hydrogen from tyre crumble. i don't know what additional scrubbing has to be done to achieve this level of purity. i also recall AFc saying that their electrodes would work on hydrogen of lower levels of purity.

Southerhay. There has been comment from AFC and PHE about this in the recent past, and certainly since PHE moved to Chester - and so I wondered if it had been shelved.

An interesting, sobering, article that shows just how much money can be lost in EfW projects. I thought this below was the nub of the issue: �There are also scaling up issues with gasification. One problem is that you can�t scale up the technology so that EfW will never contribute as much energy into the grid as was hoped.� I hope PHE does not ever try to deal with undifferentiated waste in massive quantities, but sticks to stuff - tyres, plastics, - that it can handle profitably. Athough when GH3 was being developed in Aus the aim was towards undifferentiated waste, I think that aspiration has been sensibly parked. I remain optimistic.

I have had reservations about the evidence for long term reliability, but your post seems to reassure. Can you give the evidence for this, which I may have missed? reassure on this point

The RNS on PHE shows the progress being made there on the production of superclean hydrogen from tire crumb and plastic waste, which is now going to be converted to electricity for the local mini-grid. it does not sound as if AFC is involved at present, or it would have surely been mentioned. Not good. Progress here far too slow.

This RNS may be answering my previous questions about reliability, and I assume, Telephoneman, that your statement " with many times more start-up and shut-downs than a commercial unit will see in its entire working life, and all done reliably and safely." is fact. Can you reassure me on that point? There have been previous snotty remarks (no prizes for guessing who made them) about the fact that PHE are now using only tire crumb and plastic as substrate. Surely going for low hanging fruit, rather than undifferentiated rubbish, is a no brainer. There are enough worn out tires in the UK to keep PHE going for years, to say nothing of the plastic waste. This mouse-trap really seems to work. Brilliant news.

It occurred to me that if Abbott like what they see after the breast cancer study AGL might become a t/o target for Abbott - which I would regret as it would probably not be in our interests. Parsortix is a fantastic (simple) invention with huge applications across all malignancies except perhaps CNS tumours, and will achieve huge sales in due course. One hopes it is patented up to the hilt.

I was pleasantly underwhelmed by the news on BBC this am. The killer was that for v early cancers the hit rate was only 40%. Useless clinically, and probably not cheap either. These guys are working with truly microscopic quantities of protein, and I guess that the amount of available protein is proportional to tumour mass. So the strike rate is inevitably going to be poor if this is the case. Angle has a totally different approach, isolating tumour cells, which allows far more detailed analysis of tumour expression. However I have no idea whether Parsortix has been used as a screening tool in the way that the study described today has been. I think the applications for Parsortix are huge without it being used as a screeening tool.

Persimmon. I agree this might be a very juicy prize for a bio company with deep pockets. What price would you accept? I have to say i would be disappointed if this were to happen as I would wish to be in with this game changing development for a long time.

This is very impressive work. We surely have a serious winner here. However, there are only 8 peer reviewed publications out there, and the volume of confirmatory work required before general adoption may remain substantial. Patience is needed.

I think the potential of this share (huge) is simply not appreciated because, for the majority, this is quite a complex and newish field of medicine, and not understood.

More dilution., only ~35%. Some poor investor couldn't get his act together in time for the original placng. My heart bleeds. PIs fail as usual to get a look-in. Interesting, though, that the price is already recovering.

Could not be better than this. As you say, Vincenze, this could be transformative for pharmaceuticals. I also agree that FDA are strangely slow here; perhaps waiting for an american firm to catch up, or are we dreadful cynics? Whatever, this seems to remain below the radar. Strange that AGL was ~90p earlier in the summer on no better news than we have now. Fickle thing, the aim market.
