Using SYM additives to notes is a nice thought but in practice it would be v difficult to prove this route of transmission of infection against others - droplet transmission, shaking hands, and all the other objects that we touch in daily life, etc,.

The data for the critical FDA submission are presently being collected. The crucial studies, in 4 US hospitals, should be complete by end September, but some delay in recruitment is not unusual. I reckon we should see some headline results during Q4 2018, and the submission to the FDA will be asap after that. While the FDA submission is for use of Parsortix for metastatic breast cancer, they will surely want to follow this up with an additional submission for patients with pelvic masses which may or may not represent ovarian cancer.

Apheresis is a hassle. Cell lines have been cultured from Parsortix derived CTCs. It will be the method of choice if cell culture can be achieved consistently. IMO etc,.

I would like to think this was Parsortix, but 12000 cells per sample seems a very large number, and more than i understood were being isloated by the Parsortix system. Perhaps Parsortix plus some adjunctive approach such as prostatic massage. In the past Angle has been pretty quick to issue an RNS when a Parsortix paper appears, and so I am surprised there has not been an RNS about this.

Persimmon. I think these trials are blinded for the cytologists looking at the captured cells. But differences might be so stark that the result becomes obvious long before the finish. One would hope from a point of view of scientific intregrity that the cytologists would remain silent until the end.
I wonder what the reaction might be to tumour cells being isolated from a person not known to have breast cancer, suggesting the possibility of Parsortix being used as a screening tool, perhaps for high risk individuals? that really would be a game changer.
However, news of recruitment rates being faster than expected might be circulating.
