They can certainly try to wriggle their way out but the inclusion of SNG into Activ-2 will surely weaken any such argument.

There is no doubt a huge element of ego and competition within the bioscience/health field. The competition is understandable as this is how they draw money to fund their research. And maybe both these elements are at play.

I do hope that you are wrong about the 'Oxford closed-shop' conspiracy theory because if it is true, it may well have cost many lives.

We can only look to the skill and tenacity of Synairgen's board and to the USA for SNG to receive the approval it so richly deserves.

Kevin, Last few days have been 'inside' bars within the range set on 28 Jan (high of 179, low of 155) => indecision time awaiting further news or 'sitting-on-our-hands' time :-)

Maybe that's the angle to go for - sitting on committee responsible for one of the highest death rate in the world. Make that position uncomfortable rather than a laurel for him to sit on? What are they doing to consider other therapeutic options whilst thousands continue to die?

So use the stick not the carrot!

And that is what needs to change - the media narrative.

Especially with more news of SNG and Activ2 in the next few weeks. SNG cannot be ignored then regardless of Peter Horby et al.

Without a doubt, it would be helpful to have other prominent scientists speak up for SNG.

So my question is this: Is Peter Horby the lynchpin holding the government back from publicly backing Synairgen?

I ask because I simply do not know. I have seen a headline somewhere recently where he was giving some sort of scientific update to the government but was too busy to stop and read the details.

If I may, if you are to contact Peter Horby, may I please ask that you remember "you catch more flies with honey" i.e. to say this man and his team have saved many lives through the discovery of the impact of dexamethasone. Giving him respect for this whilst asking about the way forward through SNG may yield more benefit, if not an actual result.

We can have our theories about why the UK govt and media are towing the line on vaccines but we can at least celebrate that SNG are having a warmer reception over in the States.

Could be the stuff of a Hollywood blockbuster in a few years ...

I agree Lorenzo. The government had to keep on message re: vaccines or too many will refuse it.

However, it is past time to move the narrative onto therapeutic treatment.
