60-90 days seems more plausible from personal experience. My partner had an antigen test back in May and it came back positive. We think he was infected back in March when my son was also unwell. However, when my son had an antigen test 2 months later, he tested negative. I realise this is not a scientific measure, just anecdotal.

I’m no scientist but as flu is part of the coronavirus family, as is Covid 19, that is my hope. If SNG can also be used effectively for flu we could potentially save more lives, and money currently spent on annual vaccination and lost sick days.

Looks like a play with semantics to me. Journal says forecast slashed by half to 50million; Phizer spins it to state they plan to deliver 50million since early Nov.

I remember reading an article recently (sorry, I don't have the link) where the scientists acknowledge that they have not yet determined if you can still be infectious despite having been vaccinated.

This is the market I hope SNG can eventually fill and dominate - whereby every household, post Covid, has a SNG nasal spray for colds and flu. Think of the amount of money saved if the NHS no longer has to provide annual flu vaccinations, and the billions lost due to staff going sick! If Synairgen can bring cost right down (eventually) and make this available to the masses, then there is an extremely long term future for the product and licensing deals.

He talks about home treatment - keeping the in the fridge for self-medication. I personally am very excited with the possibilities of this medicine. Just think, SNG could be as ubiquitous as the humble paracetamol.

I have stopped looking at my balance (it's in the red - shrug) but instead my focus is on the SP and chipping in buying this stock at the current highly oversold price. I am holding for a slightly longer term than I had originally intended but the company, product and science is very sound. It is myself that needed to change perspective - and that is only on the the timescale - and not the company.

This is so frustrating. What is it with this government's and media's blindness to anything without the name 'Oxford' in front of it?

Maybe not quite yet to the moon, but it is a good bounce off the 80p mark.

Mixed feelings about this news

I was listening to the news on my drive home tonight - the British government asking health agency (can’t remember their name) to look into the Pfizer vaccine for approval.

It struck me then that the govt is not bothered about how long this vaccine will be effective for. Their prime focus at this moment in time is just want to get us past the flu season. Anything else is a bonus. So even if the vaccine only lasts for 2 months, that will in itself safe lives.

What this means for us is that therapeutics most definitely have a place in this and other governments’ approach to tackling Covid19.

Well said, Mike. Hospitals near me getting near critical levels. Certainly higher Covid inpatients than during first wave. Thankfully, not as high a mortality rate - long covid is another issue altogether.

Just realised possible SNG board wider plan:
By taking phase 3 to 20 countries, not only will they fill the candidate numbers quickly, but they are immediately on the radar and therefore opened doors to rapid negotiation for immediate sales in 20 countries. Smart move.

Still many questions about the Pfizer vaccine. Found a good article summarising hurdles yet to overcome in Statnews, Also on BBC. Calmed my nerves a little. Interesting that both the President elect and PM gave a guarded response to the vaccine ie good news but ...

Over next few days, weeks even, I’m not expecting a massive price rise for SNG without news but I’m happy to be wrong on this ;-)
