I have never dared trade AIM before and have learned a lot from this board. As a PI, there have been times when I have been very worried with the SP but your belief, commitment and research have been invaluable.

Here's to a profitable 2021, when the 'shackles' that bind Synairgen can be shaken off and the world can start to benefit from its product.

I would just use a spreadsheet. I was in the same position a couple of months back and just added up the total cost and divide by the number of shares. Anytime I buy or sell this share, the average price is autumatically calculated for me.

It really is that simple.

Ricki, I did the same yesterday - thought the lower gap would get filled today. But I only sold a % of my holding so happy and sad the price has risen ;-)
Bought back in at a small loss as RNS can hit anytime - which will more than cover my small loss.

Having no financial background, I turned to the web for some calculators to help predict potential SP. It is purely speculative but with the long bank holiday weekend coming up, may be of interest to some. You will need to guestimate the variables.

I opted for this calculator:

Yes DanRey (115-129). Sold some today to hopefully (!) buy back in the gap. With the recent spread prices atm, have priced in a larger spread than originally intended. If gap is not filled by New Year's eve, will look to buy back asap.

Bought back in with small profit. Looks like the lower gap from 18 Dec will not be filled today. FOMO! News 'imminent' - if released over Christmas hols will create a price spike and another gap up.

1st gap filled. Barring any positive RNS, am expecting second gap to fill. Have a buy order pending in that gap ;-)

Of course I might be wrong! I’m not a contrarian; I just like to consider where price could go, and not be blinded to expecting price to go in just one direction.

Still good to learn something new. I did not know there were these different classifications of breakaways.

Btw today is an inside bar so price could breakaway again - in either direction. My initial Elliott wave ratio analysis had me expecting price to reach at least 175p before any retracement. That could still happen.

I am also firmly in the FOMO category so 90% remain invested with 10% for speculative trading ;-)

Borsaci06: I don't think we will revisit the gap from July unless sentiment reverses completely i.e. P3 fails.

Today's gap at the open has been closed. We are left with yesterday's opening gap (139p-145p) and an earlier one from 18 Dec (115p-129p).

In the absence of any further positive news, I see price action closing these two gaps soon. The gaps may close After reaching 170p-197p, or one or both gaps get closed Before hitting this upper price range.

IMHP, Not essential for the larger gap (July 20) to be closed at this stage - perhaps if P3 is not as successful as hoped. However the gap from Friday could close briefly soon

True but if we calculate in reverse (assuming P3 results are as expected), $1B sales would require sales of $83M per month. RM states production rate of 100K per month so we would need SNG to sell for min $830 each. Is this not plausible? Of course the price per unit will drop over time as the quantity produced rises.

Have been topping up Parsley - though I struggled to get a quote from HL. Still worth topping up even at this price.

BeforeGolf, can I ask if the query re: trading vs investing is just related to stocks or wider to include more spread betting as well (nothing to do with Synairgen- simply an interest of mine)?
