T – yep, it’s been a roller coaster, and v profitable even though I lack finesse. (Polite way of saying I am often pretty carp!) I still don’t understand or use charts apart from in a very rudimentary way. I know you like the discipline having a focus brings. I’m going to revisit my targets and incentives, with the hope of ‘improving.’
Re amigo - who knows? I know the shares rose pre-judgement anticipating/hoping the compo scheme would be accepted, and that, in part, persuaded the judge to reject it. So - now, dead cat bounce, or a correction following their big fall a week ago? Reminds me of the movements of intu last year. I remember Lefkosia got quite excited and did graphs.
Good afternoon.
Quiet day here eating slurry after a trip to the dentist.
My pf is quiet and doldrum like too…please will someone kick bossanova?
I’ve traded tui and pfc today – sold now. Tiny profits but the money’s back ready for tomorrow.
OH reminded me it’s been just over a year since I started trading (actually they said gambling tee hee) Time flies. Thanks for the company…would be pretty solitary without the briggers.
Hope it’s been an entertaining day.
White Rabbits!
A lovely start to the day - sun cracking the flags (or would be if they hadn't been stolen several years ago )
Hope everyone else is rested and raring to go. I'm slightly jaded. (a weekend of booze and cooking out crept up on me)
Lots to read...
Have a great day everyone.
Morning briggers
An irritating start to the morning with HL prices being either paralysed or all over the show. Made me realise how reliant I am on their info and watchlists and wish IG had something equivalent. Had a look, found IG watchlists, but couldn’t add stuff because this seemed to require ‘right clicking’ (I have always managed to avoid right clicking – am I really going to have to start now?)
So, before I get into a petty meltdown, I’m going to spend the day elsewhere and ponder whether I should/ can get rid of HL, or if it’s devil/deep blue sea or fire/frying pan.
And breathe……..
Morning briggers
Seems I'm first on parade. Apols for awol yesterday (hospital trip with aged relative - all ok)
O - interesting thoughts you shared last night. I am constantly perplexed by some of the illogicalities of trading. Things that don't seem right. Some hospitality values are odd - based on optimism, crowd logic, bubbles - what do I know? Makes me nervous.
Seems a perkier looking day on the markets - noticed good results for pets, tate and ajb - so they fall :-) I bought cey....don't expect to have it for long. Plus continues to notch up - I bet folks are glad about that.
Hope all have an entertaining Thursday.
My plans - dog walk and breakfast then compost et al
Morning briggers
Wild, wet and windy – ie back to normal here
T - Sorry you weren’t feeling too bright yesterday – seems to be a fair amount of ‘under the weather’ about. I have a sore throat. How I could have got it in this socially distanced world? (I blame the guy coughing behind his mask in asda.) But on a serious note – Indi variant, local lockdown / stay in your area advice, there’s a fair bit of worry and concern to slow business recovery.
C – I echo others. T’s low cost ISA idea is a good one and there are cheaper providers than IG – eg t212. I will miss your ‘I’m doing this- expecting that...’ Regardless - enjoy what comes next.
Buttoning up for the dog walk…brrrr
Have a good day y’all
V - have you flogged mars? - half of mine have gone. Will invest the spoils in craft beer at home as a reward. It won't be Marstons - although OH is partial to Bank's and Jennings bitters. (Didn't you once say you were a lager lout V?)
Been pondering card and the train.... wonder if they'll be around in 2 years time, more to the point, wonder where they'll be next week.
Hope folks had a good day.
I'm here n ...Bonjour!
Sunny and bright here – clouds on the horizon. (Could be a metaphor for the market- eek!)
So far today sold cine, pfc and bought odx, and fres a bit too soon.
Nice and bouncy start to the morning with some moves on shares of interest to other briggers. V – have you got your x rated shares back yet? S – hur shenanigans T et al - mcro on the up?
But I have no real idea where things are going, so dog walk and big breakfast before I do further damage :- )
Bon chance – have a great week y’all
Morning briggers
Raining buckets here.
T there were some spectacular falls - recovering a bit now. Someone has card I think. I've already made a couple of 'mistakes' - including buying BNWG too soon. My scientific remedy - I'll do something else for a couple of hours, and see how things look then.
Hope all have a good day - fingers crossed it's brighter later.
I’ve had a quiet day.
On the coulda-shoulda…. yep, hindsight, could have bought train ride, but was fearful about where it was going. Instead I played safe and bought and sold mcro for a fraction of what the train ride might have made. But I’m happy at that – I wanted my money back for tomorrow :-)
n – on barc I don’t think T was giving you ‘advice’ – just a view about what they would do in similar circumstances. I hope invp don't fall on great results in the morning. I'm regularly amazed at perverse market reactions.
N - your slow ISA tf - who is it coming from? In my experience some t'fs to HL take just days. Although it sounds like a blessing in disguise there's little excuse.
C – S is the plus man. Played them like a fiddle (while some of the rest of us made pathetic attempts to emulate. Like me and T’s asc) You're right - +'s certainly shifting
Bolognese tonight – lasagne if I can be bothered taking it to the next level of faff. Have a happy evening y’all
Morning all
I've just been watching the descent of Trainline. From 420s to 310 just a moment ago - I guess with the governments proposals for rail, with new British national rail or whatever it might be called selling tickets there's not many legs in the Trainline's proposition. Be interesting watching the dust settle on this one.
Hoping no briggers are hurting
Have a good day y'all.
V – masked customers queue up old style but distanced, all food behind screens, several crew carving and dishing up according to customers’ exact instructions eg ‘39 of your brownest roasties please.’ Then your embarrassingly loaded plate is taken to your table by one of the serving crew. (Frankly - can’t understand the need for the last step)
T – your fancy move strikes me as brave but shrewd. (still no Percy)
Visited the local Toby carvery last night. Pubs and venues reopenings are being undermined due to Indian variant fears so being fully vaxed thought we’d show solidarity. Well organised, covid protocols OK, team a bit rusty but all smiling and trying hard. It was cheap and cheerful and a thoroughly good experience. So I’ve just bought MAB….hoping it’ll pay for future outings.
