T - Sun hasn't shown here, it's dry, but the dog has still found mud. Have you managed an in and out on asc as per usual?
S & O – cars again. I have a slightly mad fondness for Citroens. Ingenious engineering, used to love the hydraulics on my dad’s CX. I’ve had an ami, a 2cv, and a xantia: all ended badly.
Good morning. Sunny and actually warm! Busy day away yesterday picking things up from an auction house for offspring - I enjoyed the drive.
S C O V - I'm not even looking at the value of my pf - trying to tell myself it's irrelevant.
Watching some of the travel shares dribble down - who knows when/where this will stop - soon and not too far I hope. I have bought iAG and CCL higher than I wish I had (lol - nothing newsworthy there)
V - I still have some plus - maybe I should flog them and buy some more of the basement shares.
Bossa nova and arb acting like northern soulers at wigan casino - all over the floor. I don't like it.
Anyway - courage mes braves! Here's to a better day than we expect just now : - )
Still cold, but no longer sunny. I'm tired today, pleased it's Friday for the sake of two days off. Feels like it's been a hard week, and although I've more than met my target, pf value is way down so it's a false impression. Get the impression several other briggers are feeling slightly jaded too.
Here's to a good weekend for everyone.
Afternoon briggers
Sunny but cold, I'm enjoying the brightness.
You're right O - not much happening. A day for pondering and sitting on hands so far. Sold IAG hoping to get it back later, but not sure that's a sensible aim - see the following...
One of my brood just returned from the continent and is now quarantining in place here. No massive queues reported, but long process times, having to show, one after the other, locator forms, test results, pre booked and paid (c£200) for covid tests to be taken on or before day 2 and on or after day 8. Could get released early if paid for a further test on day 5. (When a test on day 8 has already been bought and paid for, and seemingly still needs to be done) Nonsensical, expensive, bureaucracy creaking stuff. How international leisure travel could work with this sort of regime baffles me.
Hmmm -TUI, SSPG, IAG etc :-)
Morning briggers
Bright and sunny here for a change - hurrah!
Re Roo - who knows? I'm constantly perplexed how the market translates good news into plummets and vice versa - witness Bab a few days ago...now gently subsiding.
Have a great day all - I'm busy elsewhere so see you later
S – Hope all’s ok and you are not under the rubble of your porch.
T – A good day again for you and asc. Bravo! Huge kudos.
N – In my imagination your Monday was a bender and I’m envious. It’s a rare pub round here with a beer garden, too cold, too wet. I have great beer at home but it’s not the same. Is your ALBA the mining/ mineral co? – I'd never heard of them before.
V – Indeed I have been rattling through them today. I too have some arb, which I (try to) trade, but otherwise hope will have a stratospheric rise.
C – Relaxez- vous! Last year I had periods when absolutely everything was tied up and it was a touch frustrating reading this board. You don’t have to do anything. You could let time resolve things. I guess it depends on whether you want to trade or invest.
Have a happy evening guys.
T - Still in awe of you and S on the asc. I consider myself lucky if I escape from them without scalping myself.
Just sold Ccl at 1679 - don't do charts, but thinking (hoping) it may sink sub 1650 later, when I've had the dog walk and big breakfast.
Are we the only ones around today?
I'm also watching bab - stratospheric rise yesterday, after what I think was a manufactured slump last week, and wondering how much it will retrace. Remember the big fall at the start of the year? Seems manipulated, or at the very least exaggerated.
Morning briggers
weather is undecided - could be overcast all day or sun might burst thru - bit like the markets for me so far.
Thanks for the snippets T - I bought a little Tesco - like the thought of a little bit off my shopping bill...every little helps.
Have a great day all
(where will nyct get to today?)
S - chuckling at 'before I got this aged' because it's one of my regular musings. I never realised how strong, vigorous and capable I was until I wasn't. I'm not quite a crock now, but things take longer and make me ache in places I didn't know I had when I was younger. I'm thinking OH and I will use some of my trading spoils to throw some labour/skills at things we would once cheerfully have done. Trying to see it as liberation rather than abdication.
Decided I am perverse. I was holding Nyct bought at 701 so was feeling really glum when they plummeted and lost £2k+. Seems I respond to a thrashing. I’ve traded it back a la T – ie buying more low, shakes, spikes and furious attention. Thank you for the training and cheerleading guys - I’m awarding myself beer.
Ah - my sympathy S. When that mood gets you the best you can do is get your head down and indulge in manual slog. Usually works wonders for me. Sounds like your approach is well thought out. Which DIY shop - local or chain? (I prefer the prices and smell of the little places, although I'm a sucker for a screw fix etc catalogue.)
T – Thought about you this morning - naughty collie barked and jumped in protest at Percy squawk, bumped my arm and bought the CPI I was considering.
I think he’s been courting. He is strutting about shouting at every passing vehicle and displaying his fab tail feathers – quite a presence!
The cpi are up, but only enough to cover the duty – I want rid : -)
