Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
N - re card - walked past a card warehouse yesterday - poster in the window 5 cards for a pound. The relation between real life and share price activity continues to strike me as bizarre....Barclays this morning - profits up - shares slump.
T - not worked out breakfast yet - poached eggs and bacon, but guess OH will be ravenous following a mile of laps or whatever. Will keep you posted :-)
Morning briggers – sunshine is a surprise, contrary to forecast, here’s to a great Friday.
T – I’m feeling a bit bored too. I think you’re safe with fres, surely can’t get much lower.
Oooh - I’ve just noticed what looks like a pile out of sng and into avct – wonder what ‘they’ know?
OH has gone swimming and will return in a couple of hours ready for a heeuge breakfast. I’d better walk the dog to do something to deserve mine : -)
V - that's a kind thought...always helpful.
HL is playing up for me this morning - intermittently showing odd prices and bumping me out. Very annoying. Think I'll take it as a cue to do other things. I have auction purchases to collect, a compost heap needing relocation and really rather fancy a Sadact apple cake.
T - I noticed asc around the 5200 mark this morning - your crystal ball again, but I guess you bought at 5190 :-) (Just watching this morning)
V - Maybe you need one of those light boxes that shine simulated daylight. (I need the dark shades, blackout blinds and eye masks - overstimulated whatever the season.) (Never heard of syme before - sounds like slime)
C and anyone else interested - I bought 88e @ 1.45 - please note it wasn't S's fault
Welcome Kevin or Karen :-) The more the merrier. I have 'stale' fgp - (should have sold when they were having a rally following the sale of an arm in the US) I think they look teasingly down this evening, ready to pop tomorrow perhaps?
Morning briggers.
Cool, damp, breezy i.e. back to normal here.
Bought TPK on the opening fall....pondering when to sell.
T - I thought you had pulled a blinder but now bossa is behaving strangely, hope it gets its shizzle together eventually. As well as my active traders I have 'perched on a ledge' ones at 701 (that's probably why I noticed the steep fall a couple of weeks ago)
Some travel shares are full of optimism today...but not all ...poor old OTB.
S - progress report please - are you safely glazed?
Hope everyone's having fun.
V –Who knows? I think there’s pros and cons to both approaches. I’m happy with £50, but can even get excited with £21 which (is T listening?) I managed to do on a (scary) asc trade this afternoon. Might not be massive, but it’s profit and the cash is back in play. I’m not v good at this, I know many would sneer, but I’m good enough for my purposes.
Wow it's cold. Just lit the fire and opened a bottle of Prosecco (Sun would be over the yard arm if it was out!). I'm marking, rather than celebrating selling Bossa, bought at 533, sold at 555, rebought at 520. Nothing much happening on my pf so declared a sort of holiday.
V - I think I have the multiples badge, but I'm cloddish in execution compared with maestro S. Thanks for sharing the odx, abdx - can we have more shares ending in an x please?
Morning briggers
Apols for radio silence, been busy elsewhere with offspring stuff – one ended quarantine here and has packed off to new flat. Back to ‘normality’ here.
Good to hear what everyone has been up to.
T - hope you got over your touch of the sun
C – I too have bought tsco this morning, but I’m hoping for a couple of percent over the next day or so. (Feels reassuring to hear you bought around the same level – the wisdom of crowds haha)
I bought and sold IAG early, but greedily dithered and missed the opportunity to rebuy, my other buys today ccl, pfc, avct and hsx – seems diversity is my watchword at the moment. Seems I do more trades in a day than most of you do in a week :-)
Dunno what is happening today in the markets, so time to do something else, like a dog walk in the novelty drizzle, and hope for clearer signs later.
Wishing you all a great day.
O - you are right. Boz's illness turned into a blessing for us all, & sleaze and cronyism aside, the UK are in a relatively enviable position. I hope the govt decides quickly it's foreign aid budget should be directed to help people who aren't so lucky.
The EU are downright embarrassing.
Bright and sunny good morning - I am pleased it is Friday too.
It's been a funny old week. Felt I was wildly 'wrong' about so much this week, ie bought too soon, sold too low, watched my pf value slump, but I've still managed to make some money (disregarding the v red pf) and am edging towards my target. But I'm feeling meh (as my kids might describe it)
The news out of India is dreadful. The news reports heartbreaking. All the sad, bereaved relatives trying to do their best for their (not so) elderly parents, finding no hospital beds, no oxygen, feeling hopeless and helpless. It's not clear whether the UK are helping - or whether there is anything ordinary people like us could do.
Am I alone in finding it a bit boring today? (No thrill of loosing every gain lol)
Market oddities continue - aj bell post the great news that they have more customers, more funds, their shares fall lower than yesterday by 4%+
Dog walk now
