It is interesting that a " ... long-range .... " requirement provided by LPWAN, is proving beneficial for gas and water networks in particular.

This requirement fits in with what John Cronin has mentioned over recent weeks, that CyanConnode now have a range capability of between 1.2km to 12km, with the Hybrid solution, as I understand it.

An interesting read, for those that are interested.

There was a difference between the CyanConnode Intraday share graph yesterday on LSE, that did not record less than 5.25p and the share-price attributed to CyanConnode on LSE, at the end of the session, of 5.00p.

So I feel there has been a correction from very early today.

Good morning all,

I have just contacted CyanConnode, to clarify, what I think was a typing error, for the part in the report which says, " Brokers forecast the Groups sales will climb to £7min in the current year to March 2019."

This should read, " Brokers forecast the Groups sales will climb to £7min in the current year to December 2019."

Looking at your post, does the 3.5% you mentioned, not refer to the Zigbee solution.

From the report you posted, under Home Area Networks:-

" However, where the meter is a long way from the location of the In Home Display, or thick walls are in the way, the current technology ( Zigbee at 2.4GHz ) can't work. This could be the case for up to 30% of properties."

The report goes on to say:-

" A different communication method ( Zigbee 868MHz ) will improve this for about 3.5% of properties, but that will still leave a large number, for whom Smart Meters won't work. Zigbee 868MHz will be available sometime in 2018."

So taking the Zigbee 2.4GHz and the Zigbee 868MHz solutions into account, does that not still leave approximately 26.5% of the HAN properties ( 30% - 3.5% ) without smart meters?

I have responded over on this thread, because it is about the UK contract, that I am responding to.

I do not think we can take any numbers as being specific, for " Not-Spots " or even whether we will be given specific figures, for different regions. But working on a pro-rata basis, for the original 10% contract CyanConnode have, for the initial 1m meters installed,100,000 " Not-Spots," may have been generated. Which is 20% of the 500,000 licences originally negotiated, that Bjorn mentioned at the meeting.

Different areas, may throw up different percentages, so this is only a general figure. And it will depend on how CyanConnode recognize and detail the information given to share-holders.

But working on the 10% pro-rata basis, 5m SMETS2 smart meters, installed in the UK, could/should take care of the original 500,000 licences issued.

It may be more, it may be less. It depends on the percentages/numbers.

Just picking up on the general conversation.

I have posted this information before the presentation Vas, but confirms basically what Anil was saying and Imperial mentioned. Two reports, one from Genus Power and another from PowerLine.

From the PowerLine report, which basically confirms the approximate 200k meter figure, that Genus mention in their report.

The " pie-chart " also gives some further information on the number of meters scheduled for installation for the above 500kWh consumers and the numbers installed. Also the numbers of meters scheduled for 200kWh - 500kWh customers and the numbers installed.

A very good and detailed summary. Thank you for refreshing my memory cells. It was a very encouraging presentation, all in all.

But as you re-confirmed, it is reassuring to know that Genus Power, HPL and Larsen&Toubro, three of CyanConnodes Partners, have 50% of the overall smart meter market in India. ( Page 13 of the PowerPoint presentation.)

I was also present at a conversation about Legal&General reducing there holdings. If it was the same conversation, it was good to meet you. We must meet up again sometime.

I agree. The combination of the two companies has developed an excellent product, from an initial excellent product.

By that I mean, India changed its requirements 2/3 years ago, from IPv4 to IPv6. Despite the Mysore project getting very good reviews, in India and being used as a showcase, for not only CyanConnodes technology, but also for CyanConnodes Partners and infrastructure capabilities, Mysore was an IPv4 requirement/project and pre-Omnimesh.

One of the differences with Omnimesh, is its ease of deployment and the " bolt-on " capability, to form an extended and extendable, RF canopy.

And as you have indicated, let us look forward to a post Indian election period, where there may/should be some tenders awarded.
