.......... on the developing global smart meter markets, from 2018 through to 2024.
It covers some regions that had been involved with the " first wave " of smart meter installations and also goes on to mention those regions that are looking to be part of the " second wave " of the smart meter/smart grid development.
From the report:-
" Smart metering is widely regarded as the cornerstone for future smart grids and is currently being deployed all over the world, with a growing number of large-scale initiatives now being launched in developing countries. The Asia-Pacific constitutes the largest market by far, while North America ranks as the third-largest market after Europe."
The Asia-Pacific region, it is reported - " ..... defined as China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand - is projected to se the installed base of smart meters increase from 618.8 million units in 2018 to 975.0 million units in 2024. At this pace, the four Asian markets of China, Japan, South Korea and India will alone surpass 1 billion installed smart electricity meters by 2025."
There are also other regions that are mentioned and the report also mentions about different technologies that are being used, such as PLC, Cellular, RF and the NB-IoT.
There are also two lists towards the end of the report. One indicating the participants for Smart Metering in North America and Asia Pacific and the other for participants in Smart Metering in Europe.
